My Review on The Flamingo Waterpark Resort in Kissimmee, Fl We went on a staycation there as we had several times in the past. Back in 2014 and 2017, they had live music and hula hoop contests and dances for the kids, it was fun. You could order nachos and french fries at the bar and have drinks, but not this time. I booked this place August 23-25, 2024, but we wound up checking out on the 24th due to having a horrible experience. The room itself was nice. Wooden floors, fridge, microwave and a nice jacuzzi we weren’t expecting. It overlooked the water park that was closed when we got there because we didn’t get there til 6pm due to traffic. The tiki bar outside and the bar inside were both closed so we couldn’t even order a drink if we wanted to. The next day the waterpark and lazy river were both opened but the lazy river tubes were just the size for a child not an adult so it was really uncomfortable sitting in them you barely fit and the lazy river was a big swimming pool because it did not move. There was no current it was beyond lazy. You had to move yourself if you wanted to go anywhere. The tiki bar was supposed to open at noon but didn’t actually open until 1:30 ish. We ordered a whiskey ginger ale the bartender rang it up a receipt printed out but she didn’t give it to us. She turned around instead and wrote how much it was on a piece of paper. It was $15 so we handed her a $20 bill we get our change back. We leave her a $2 tip and we had to ask for a receipt and when she finally gave it to us, we noticed there was a 15% gratuity already added after we tipped her the $2 because we didn’t get an original receipt to pay in the first place. It’s cash only at the bars. They do the same thing in the restaurant inside the hotel and it’s very deceitful and dishonest. They don’t want you to know that they add the 15% gratuity so they don’t give you a bill to pay. There’s no signs anywhere posted on property that gratuity would be automatically added. They just tell you how much it is and then you leave a tip thinking that’s, the norm but now they’re getting the tip plus the 15% gratuity and they don’t give a receipt unless you ask. It’s an awful way to do business to cheat your customers and it gives the hotel a very bad taste in my mouth. The only food that you can order from there is Puerto Rican. I love Puerto Rican Cuisine don’t get me wrong but sometimes after a hot day, swimming and sitting in the sun, you just want a big juicy burger and french fries. Thank God for Door Dash! The breakfast in the hotel was ok. Big portions for the affordable prices. My daughter ordered burnt pancakes and I had eggs with toast no butter or jelly comes with it just toast. When you ask for it they don’t have jelly and they bring you melted margarine that tastes like chemical. They don’t have orange juice or apple juice for the kids only passionfruit which was pretty good I must say. There is no ice machines on the floors you go into the little store they have in the lobby and you’re allowed one small bag of ice per day. For it being a weekend it wasn’t crowded at all but from my experience and from reading all the bad reviews, now I know why.

This location has great potential but unfortunately it is lacking in many areas. The room was nice as far as the furniture and renovations. But the room was not clean. The floors were filthy, the desk was not clean, the dresser and night stand had a sticky substance on it. The mini fridge had mold growing in it. The sink drained extremely slow it was a nightmare to brush our teeth in the sink as it took at least 3 minutes for the water and spit to drain out. Sink was not clean on arrival. Bathroom had a musty smell, there was mold growing in the grout. Bathroom floors dirty as well, unswept and unmopped. The towels and sheets were rough, not soft and the detergent used to wash them had an awful smell. We went out and purchased sheets towels and wash clothes because of the smell, had to purchase bleach and cleaners for the bathroom and to clean the room. No closet no hangers and no iron. The water park for a distance looked great, up close very disappointing. The watersides very rusty. The hottub had a film of some oil substance floating in top. The lazy river was ok until we started making our way around and noticed black mold growing on the wooden poles and ropes, the tile along the lazy river was slimmy absolutely disgusting. At that point we got out and it lead us to believe that the water did not contain any chlorine. Our complaints went unresolved upon returning to our room late night the floors were still dirty and the sink still took approx 3 minutes to drain. Staff was ok, customer service wasn't above and beyond. Check in and check out process was easy. Definitely will not be returning or recommending under these conditions.

This place is very nice and affordable for it being a family resort. I do have some suggestions. I am all for job opportunities but for the price and sacrifice that it takes nowadays to have a vacation with a family of 5 it's not always easy. So when we go on vacation it's nice to know that at least the service is decent. I am Hispanic and bilingual but my children sadly don't speak Spanish and my husband is not bilingual and speaks only English. He knows some Spanish. I honestly think it's bad for business and super uncomfortable that in the United States you can't communicate with the people from the front office, order food ,or purchase items at the little store because the employees don't speak English. Luckily I spoke Spanish and I could communicate with the employees. My teenagers couldn't be independent unless I go with them. My husband ordered a drink at the bar and the Colombian lady couldn't even get the right whiskey and drink correctly. The price for drinks aren't cheap and for her to just get the order wrong was frustrating. Also, the Spanish music that they blasted was completely inappropriate for a family resort with children present. I was super uncomfortable because the songs were explicit and inappropriate. Luckily my children didn't understand it but I did and felt uneasy. At the pool they had 90's music in English and it was pleasant but the water slide next to the bar was super disturbing. The lyrics were pornography and just wrong. I think management should reconsider the type of employers they hire and the lack of control they have. Hire bilingual people not just Spanish speaking people.

To be kind, this hotel is hustle and a dump in desperate need of renovation.||We visited the hotel on 7/29/23 mostly so our 8 year old could enjoy the waterpark which is really a lazy river and about 4-5 slides. ||Upon on arrival, the place looks dingy but I was trying to be hopeful. Checked in about 4:30ish. The photo on the site seems to represent the area that has been remodeled, not the majority of the hotel.||First :|1. Front desk staff are RUDE and incredibly dismissive.|2. There is a resort fee of an additional $37 per day (not included with room rate and taxes).||We walked up the 2 flights of stairs to the 3rd floor and neither of the two room keys worked. The couple in the room next to ours told us that they had issues as well and we should call the front desk. The front desk sent the maintenance guy to the room. He tried to program the keys and they did not work. He said the locks are old and that he needed to repair the lock but we needed to be in the room while he did it. So we waited the 40 minutes for him to repair the lock. At the end of which he said "only one key will work." Now, it's time for us to go to dinner.||Head to dinner and come back sometime after 8pm. Walk up the stairs and use the new key. It did not work-AGAIN. Called the front desk, AGAIN. Sent the maintenance guy, AGAIN. He said the lock was not going to work because the rooms are old and all the locks need to be replaced. So he suggested they should change our room but also let us know that none were available where we were and no more double rooms. ||My husband called the front desk to ask about a potential reassignment. They said we could go to a new room with one bed except there are three of us. We asked at that point for a refund because it's clear we couldn't stay since 1. we couldn't secure our room with a working lock on the door and 2. they could not accommodate the three people in our family. ||My husband went to the front desk because at this point we realize we cannot stay at this resort when the only person can get into the room is the maintenance guy. The front desk tried to make it seem like it was us that somehow we didn't know how to use the key when the maintenance guy, in front of us, tested and showed us that the key was not working because the door was faulty.||The front desk person 1 (they refused to give a name) said they offered us one of four different rooms. However, when we reminded them none of those matched our reservation requirement they said it's not their problem.|Asked for the manager who was magically not available. We checked out the hotel after 4 hours of arriving there and called USAA to demand a refund from this business.||We were better accommodated at another hotel within 20mins and it was so worth leaving.||My husband called the manager whose first name is LISA with no last name (she insisted that she wasn't "obliged" to give him a last name) and once my husband kept reminding them of their culpability, she said " I can't stay on the phone with you all day.." cited the company policy and that they won't refund the rest of the stay ( he got them to agree to one night's refund, although we never spent a night there).||Because we booked through USAA they are mediating this process and requesting the refund for the second night. I plan on reporting them to the BBB. ||This hotel should shut all the way down until they complete their renovations and still I wouldn't stay there. The maintenance guy was the most polite and mannerly person. The rest of them need to be terminated and removed from dealing with customers all...
