Stayed here while working in La Quinta and thought it would be nice to stay somewhere other than a big name cookie cutter hotel. I was dead wrong. The bad, not much to say negatively except one MAJOR problem, BUGS, BUGS, and more BUGS. As seen in the attached photos, there were fruit flies, mosquitoes, crickets and ROACHES. I got back late from work the 1st night and laid down to notice a swarm of a hundred small flying insects on the ceiling, I alerted staff and was told its because the cleaners open the doors to outside when they clean ( I never opened the door as it was 110 everyday I stayed ) I was offered another room, but upon checking that room the hostess and I noticed the same problem, so I was given some bug spray. Not the best, but the staff was very courteous and apologetic to the situation she had no control over. I slept and awoke the next morning, while getting ready for work I felt a wet crunching under my barefoot and turned the light on to reveal a nice large cockroach 🤮 (attached photo) I went to work and came back and checked the whole room and found a handful of crickets, another cockroach and a slew of new flying insects. I understand that this location is near a lake, and I understand things happen, but to this degree is unacceptable and unsanitary, not to mention this has been a complaint from other reviewers before, management needs to spend the few bucks from profit to bug proof the doors and hire an exterminator, it is a known problem (the hostess was not surprised, and had ample amounts of bug spray) this is a major issue and I’m surprised it has not been resolved. The good The staff was all very courteous and friendly Pool was clean. Location is nice if you enjoy the La Quinta area Onsite parking Landscaping was great All in all I will not be returning as the amount of bugs was a gigantic issue, I would not be comfortable bringing a date here, my kids here, or myself for that reason alone. If that issue was resolved, this place would be awesome.

I came to the Château from San Diego on Sunday to celebrate my late mother’s birthday, as her resting place is in Coachella. First off, the welcome we received from Paul, was not at all welcoming. He did didn’t introduce himself, didn’t inquire about how we were doing; he gave me a paper to sign agreeing that I would be checking out on Wednesday. He then handed me 1 key and told me the room number. He said , “I just like to let you know that the restaurant will be closed Monday and Tuesday”. Nothing else, no instructions, no enjoy your stay, nothing! We proceeded to our room, with the 1 key that he gave us,, kind of puzzled as to why we only received 1 key. Once we entered the room, we found it modestly decorated, however the chair looked quite worn, and the carpet was filthy. It didn’t looked as though it had been vacuumed, and it was stained. The bathroom was very nice, but the shower glass didn’t appear to be clean. We decided to go out for dinner, but we stopped to ask if it would be possible to get a 2nd key. Paul asked us what our room number was, and retrieved the 2nd key. We thanked him and left. The next morning, someone was trying to enter our room, when asked , “can we help you?”, startled because it was rather early. The person at the door was asking if we were checking out. We told the person, no we are not checking out, as we were scheduled to stay until Wednesday. A short time later, we received a call from Paul at the front desk apologizing for the mix up. My sister then asked when Housekeeping comes to clean the room, we were then informed that Housekeeping only comes if you are staying for more than 3 days. As we were leaving for the day on Monday, we saw the Housekeeping Staff, and asked if we could have clean towels and if she could possibly vacuum our carpet, as it looked as it had not been vacuumed the previous day. Housekeeping politely obliged. We stopped at the front desk, to let Paul know of our request of housekeeping , so that she wouldn’t get into trouble. My sister commented to Paul(which we didn’t even know his name until after this exchange), that he seemed a little bit more polite today than he did the previous day. Paul said, that he apologized for not mentioning the no housekeeping unless you were staying more than 3 days. I told him, you didn’t tell us much of anything yesterday, then I thanked him and asked him his name. On Tuesday, after our outing, we called and asked if we could get more towels, toilet paper, and Kleenex. Not long afterwards, there was a loud knock at the door, it was Paul bringing the requested items. My sister went to hang the towels, and noticed that the only hand towel given looked dirty. An hour or so later Claudia, a member of housekeeping passed by our room, and my sister asked if we could get some clean hand towels and toiletries. Claudia was very kind, and brought the items back. Wednesday morning, I was up using the restroom, when I went to change the toilet paper roll, to my great disgust, the new roll of toilet paper that Paul had given us last night, was stained with something brown! It looked beyond disgusting, and I don’t know what it was. I had to use Kleenex, to handle my business. It was checkout day, so I left the toilet paper with Paul, and thank him. Surprisingly enough, Paul was actually cordial for the very first time, but first impressions last, and we felt unwelcome from the start of our visit. The positives about the Château are, the bed was very, very comfortable and the view from the balcony was beautiful. There are sea turtles and catfish in the lake, the atmosphere is very serine. I wish I give them a higher rating, but if I compared it to previous places I’ve stayed, the Château was subpar, when it could have been superb! I almost forgot, I was given $29 off for Paul not mentioning the...

I wanted to live this hotel as we had stayed there probably 15+ years ago with my parents.|I called and booked reservation directly.|After much discussion booked the bungalow the top accommodation.|We were there on a quick one day business trip but wanted to celebrate last weeks birthday for my wife.|We checked in and was told there was no hot water and we could go elsewhere. |We were tired and after much to do and rude front desk guy manager said we could stay for half price, no resort fee.|He told me he left a message in our room about the water but we had not checked in. |They had my email and phone number.|Sure enough my message light was blinking, ha, ha.|Our room was pricey about $475 so I agreed.|Manager then said they had overbooked and the bungalow was not available and we were downgraded a bit but still paying 1/2 of original price. |Fine, too tired to argue and guests were waiting to check in.|Room was spacious with great view of the lake but not as private as room we had booked.|Chandelier was dusty and had a few burned out bulbs.|Carpet had seen better days.|Had dinner reservations at 6 at their restaurant Melange.|Very unorganized with no hostess then seated us.|Lovely on the lake & romantic.|Not too busy.|We got water and coffee after 20 minutes.|Another 10 minutes or so waiter appeared was apologetic but jeez.|Ordered a Martini; it was a total of 47 minutes before I got my drink.|We thought we better order.|Ces. salad good but they said homemade croutons but none and tons of cheese. Our steak was thin but good and a bit overcooked. I would have ordered wine but that was not going to happen.|Beautiful romantic setting but there was one waiter and one busboy and waiter was the bartender and maybe the cook it all took so long.|String of lights outside room burned out and missing bulbs over the ones in restaurant.|Next AM continental breakfast was sad.|Same unpleasant front desk guy. Some fruit, a few Otis S. muffins, plate with 2 pieces of bread and other guests were rolling their eyes at rude guy and sad display.|They advertised water in rooms there was only sparkling so asked please for still but said delivery did not happen.|I heard this a few times on our short stay.|When I approached manager she was talking to an employee; ignored me for a few minutes and said I had to wait.|Upon checkout it was a nightmare. |Took 30 minutes and they had not discounted and inept guy could not figure out. He then handed me revised bill for over $1,400 and then credited?? I do not honestly know till I get my Visa. Total bill should have been like $265.|I almost lost it and guests gave me sympathetic looks.|This place could be lovely but it needs new manager, management, staff, renovation &...

I want to express my deep appreciation for the expertise, professionalism, attention-to-detail, flexibility and above-and-beyond efforts of the entire staff at The Chateau for the beautiful execution of my daughter’s wedding ceremony and reception in August 2024.

A very special mention goes to Manager Karla. I cannot say enough about how her joyful and generous attitude and exceptional customer-service skills contributed to a day of elegance, beauty, joy and celebration. To mention all the ways The Chateau’s staff excelled would make for too long a message. I’ll try, though:

The hotel staff was on top of every detail, making sure the wedding party and overnight visitors were comfortable. The wait staff and bartenders were knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive.

Chef Jose’s beautiful and delicious creations delighted everyone. From the appetizers at the pre-dinner reception, to the fantastic entrees and delicate desserts, everything was sensational. Flavors, presentation, quantity, quality, and delivery were all perfect. Everyone happily applauded his talent and his kitchen staff’s expertise.

The behind-the-scenes staff I never met, arranged all seating, the wedding, reception and dinner table decorations, and saw to it that every detail was perfect. Our photographers were great and The Chateau’s staff assisted them in every way so they could do their job well.

So many of The Chateau’s staff shone that day. However, the brightest star was Manager Karla. Before, during and after, her leadership, communication and organizational skills made all this happen as we imagined and hoped. Her flexibility in accommodating our many requests was so appreciated. Her constant smile as she did some incredible problem-solving and troubleshooting was exceptional! Her expertise reduced our stress levels before the big day. Karla, a sincere big “THANK YOU!” for you.

We would strongly recommend The Chateau for everything from drinks overlooking the lovely lake, dinner, hotel stays, or any special group event. The staff provide exemplary services in a beautiful and very romantic setting.

Sincerely, Happy mother of a...
