Wasn't a pleasant experience. ||1. Upon check-in, we were told that a room on the top floor was not avaliable even though we had pre-confirmation in black and white. We were eventually given a ground floor room facing the blank wall of another building structure. ||2. Got a panicky call the following morning before 8am on a Saturday I might add, claiming that my car was improperly parked or rather I had usurped someone else's lot. I was met at reception by an irate employee threatening me that if I didn't move my car, it would be towed. My response to that was that no information was made to us on check-in that lots were allocated and that we were only allowed in a designated lot. Answer from said irate employee: "I doubt it"! Indicating that either i was stupid or deaf, of which I am neither. By the way, my eventual designated lot was a humongous lot with bollards on either side. Read moreLocation, Location, Location! |Imagine waking every morning to a gorgeous ocean view featuring Catalina Island! ||We've just completed a wonderful one-week stay at Laguna Shores, which is located right on Cliff Drive across from Heisler Park and the Pacific Ocean. The "bird rock" tide pools are located just down the steps from Heisler Park, too.||The free Laguna Beach trolly stops just a block away (the long coast ride is a must) and the popular Main Beach and downtown Laguna Beach are a 1/4 mile stroll away. ||Our studio suite was just right and featured a fully appointed kitchen, and by fully appointed I mean it had everything needed to cook and enjoy our own meals. I was surprised to even find a blender and hand-mixer, mixing bowls, pots and pans, dishware, silverware, cooking utensils, dish pan, drying rack - everything!||The murphy-bed was surprisingly comfortable, too! ||I've noted that some reviewers found the rooms dated or complained of street noise - we do not share that complaint at all. The location is beachfront Laguna Beach, so of course during the day we heard a bit of noise from cars parking on the street at the meters, car doors closing, some people laughing and talking - but that is all part of the beach experience. Laguna Shores is a very typical beach motel, very clean, and similar to other beach motels up and down the west coast. ||If you want the true "feel" and experience of living in Laguna Beach, then Laguna Shores is for you! (If you want fancy and dead silence, head for the Ritz.)||Yes! We will be back again before the...
