I think I’ve written maybe 2 other reviews in my life. So in this review, I want to share what I believe is such an uncaring attitude towards our patronage of Reunion Kitchen.

We have ordered a handful of times for takeout from Reunion Kitchen in Laguna Beach. Each time there was at least (1) mistake with our order. We ordered because our kids wanted burgers and fries.

After the last order, we took a break for a few months. We tried again one last time this Sunday, hoping that if I called in the order and spoke to a person, our order would be correct when we picked it up. The order taker did repeat my order back to me exactly as ordered.

Unfortunately, after we got the order home we discovered that (3 )of our (4) entrees were not prepared as we ordered. Our orders were not complicated. We just asked for (2) beef sandwiches and (1) Cheeseburger to be prepared plain. No sauce, or extra items. Plain. All (3) items came fully loaded with sauces, etc. I had to scrape the burger and the prime roast sandwiches were not salvageable for my kids.

We will not be ordering again from Reunion. Reunion is not inexpensive. I called the manager to explain what occurred. He offered an apology and that was it. So, maybe they do not care. But we we are not a small order and won’t...

Simple: ordered two burgers medium well and both came out medium rare or less than medium with nothing but pink. The server never checked in with us after the food was delivered and we had no time to send it back so I hope we don't get sick from undercooked ground beef. After bringing it up to the server he did nothing to apologize or any accommodation. Secondly, the classic cheeseburger was so mushy that more than half of it was inedible as a burger because it fell apart and soaked the bun to crumbles where only messy fingers or flatware were the only way to finish it. $52 for two burgers cooked poorly, served with mediocrity, and I feel like I shouldn't have even tipped the 15% but I did... And that was without any drinks. I would have given two stars because the flavors were good but after the lackluster experience I will just give it a one and move on. You could have done way better. The chef should have done better, the food runner could have verified the order and seen it was undercooked before bringing it to the table, and the server could have checked in to see how everything after we received the food. Lots of opportunities to have saved our experiences that...

Love Laguna, not a big fan of anywhere to eat until now! We come down a few times a year but our secret places get found out, they remodel and quadruple the price but we still have places. We aren't loaded so we look for affordable food and lodging. I think plates that are 16-24 bucks are pretty reasonable as long as it is good. bad food for 20-40 is unacceptable, well, bad food is never ok. ANYWAY, we ate at this same location when it was Unami burger, in a building at the entry of Pavilions Grocery. Started off with the best old fashioned. Vanilla, maple syrup, makers, awesome. My wife had a Stoli strawberry something with lemonade, awesome. French onion soup, awesome. Deviled eggs, Fried chicken, Fish and chips, pumpkin something or other dessert. Everything was great, the drinks, service, food, dessert, thank you. I do not like the blinding parking lot lights if you are sitting next to the windows. Get some blinds please! Will not be looking around for a restaurant next time, this is a go to place! Just took pictures of our actual food, sorry not too fancy just wanted to show...

Great overall experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is upscale, casual, comfortable, non pretentious, with music playing at an appropriate volume. The service was great. Attentive without being overbearing and the hot towels are a nice touch. The food was great. We had bacon wrapped jalapeños, devil eggs, Rosemary's chicken and biscuits, chicken pot pie, buttercake, and the brownie sundae (oink, I know, especially for 2 people). The highlights of the meal were the bacon wrapped jalapeños, chicken and biscuits, and the butter cake. The sausage gravy that comes with the chicken and biscuits was amazing. Creamy, thick, and with just the right amount of heat. The portion size of everything was beyond my expectations, and I would definitely recommend this place to locals and tourists who are looking for a unique experience of American comfort food. Plus, they have free parking, which is hard to find in Laguna. Definitely worth a return trip.

Review edit. This place was mediocre at best. Reunion, you were fantastic! What happened? We got the poke stack- The avocado tasted a bit sour and the wantons and fish were not quite fresh. We got the deviled eggs- tasted super eggy (not in a good way.) The salads had fried onions that weren't fresh tasting either. Your staff is fantastic. The cocktails were still great but what happened to your kitchen? We likely won't be back. This place is great. Pretty quiet. Clean. Quaint. Modern. Food is incredible. Parking plentiful. They are covid compliant with excellent ventilation and plenty of space between tables. Drinks were delicious- staff terrific. We tried a bunch of dishes, everything was perfect. Splurge on the butter cake- it's devine. Thank you, Reunion!
