Positives: +: The room felt really clean. +: The staff, especially Angel the maintenance guy, were very pleasant. +: The hotel felt safe/secure, with a few different gates and good lighting. +: The power went out in town, but the hotel had generators keeping our AC and lights running.
Just-Ok: ~: The hotel is a bit of a walk from the restaurants or dive shop. At a slow pace, it took us 8 minutes. The walk isn't very well lit, but it didn't feel sketchy. Also, it was flat/not-hilly. If it was closer to downtown, it might have been noisier. ~: The bathroom had a screened in window instead of a fan. So the humidity got into the bathroom, but it also meant bathroom smells never lingered long.
Negatives: -: The hotel was understaffed. One worker was both the front desk and the bartender, so we waited about 10 minutes before she checked us in. -: The hotel told us we needed to wear paper bracelets to show that we were guests. They were super uncomfortable (especially to sleep in after doing water activities) and also unnecessary because there was no one checking for them. So we ditched ours after a few hours. -: There was no nightstand for the person on one side of the bed. So I had to hang a bag...
Read moreFantastic hotel! The hospitality here at Turtle Bay was incredible. The entire property was immaculate. My friends and I enjoyed breakfast and coffee at the hotel each morning. The small waterfront town of Parguera was a 1 minute walk around the corner. The area has cute shops and excellent restaurants. HAVE THE HOTEL SET UP A PRIVATE BOAT TOUR OF THE BIOLUMINESCENT BAY. This sunset/bio bay tour was PHENOMENAL!! We did the tour the night before we left. If I had booked it when we got there I would have gone 2 more times to swim in the sparkling glowing water! No words can describe how magical the experience was. When you get into the dark water it glitters and glows as you swim. As you tread water with your arms and legs it appears as though you are swimming through glitter. This is the only bio bay in PR that allows you to get into the water and it was one of the most AMAZING experiences of my life! The sky was full of stars and the water was perfect for swimming. I swam for about 45 minutes but I could have stayed in the water of the...
Read moreMy apologies for such a late review, however excellent service always needs to be recognized. My wife and I stayed here last April for her birthday week. This place is awesome! The rooms and hotel itself are very neat and very clean and the service provided is the best. Everyone was very nice and Kristina who helped us check in was amazing. She made us feel at home and whenever we got back to the hotel she would stop to talk to us and would listen to our adventures for the day. She also recommended going to La Parguera where we had a great time. One day we forgot to fill out our breakfast card and the staff went out of their way to make sure we got our breakfast before heading out for the day. The coffee and breakfast sandwiches were perfect. Our time in Puerto Rico was definitely an adventure and there were lots of things that went wrong but our time at The Turtle Bay Inn was one of the best experiences we had on this vacation. We definitely will be back soon and will recommend others to stay...
