My friends and I visited puerto rico last week. They had never been, but this was my fourth time visiting. Puerto Parguera denied us service. We just wanted to get something to eat before we went snorkeling. They wouldn’t even let us in the door until a puerto rican customer finally asked them to let us in and serve us. We sat down and they took approximately 5 minutes to give us a menu (not a big deal but they were not busy at all). And then they kept serving people who had entered the restaurant after us when they still had not even asked us for our drink order. I thought it was because they thought we did not speak spanish but i do speak spanish! We finally left after sitting there for about 15 minutes with no service. On our way out, the waitress walked next to me and told me “buen provecho”….. the attitude was unnecessary and then the owner opened the door for us to leave without asking why we were leaving. I was so confused because we were not even given a chance, we were dressed appropriately, and we were not spoken to so they couldn’t have thought we were rude since we weren’t even given the opportunity to speak. It makes me wonder if they treat all tourists like that. SO, we went to a place down the street that was very nice and we gave them over $20 tip for only a couple drinks and some tacos. Those people were...

Food made with a lot of love and pride.
The location is right next to the water and city center. It adjoins a public parking lot which is easy to find parking during Mon-Thurs but becomes very crowded during the weekend. It's also right next to the docks if you plan to go out snorkeling/diving.
A variety of pork, chicken, and seafood dishes for all levels of budget. If you're on a budget, you can stick with a few Empanadillas ($2.50 each) stuffed with seafood (i had fish, conch, and lobster over my stay and it was delicious). If you want a simple dinner of rice, beans, and meat - it's around $10. Mofungo and more entree's start around $15. I was told this was the place of all places to try the Mofungo - a Puerto Rican specialty of mashed plantains and seafood. I opted for the octopus with garlic butter instead of the house made red sauce. It was delicious. The fried cheese balls are also yummy:)
There is a walk-up window if you prefer to grab-and-go vs. seated meal. The restaurant is largely open and can seat large groups. The staff is very...

It was my daughters 12th birthday and we decided to take a trip. We decided to stay in Lajas as recommended by my sister as they’ve been many many times and always said good things. This restaurant was one of the places we ate for lunch while on vacation and I’ve never dealt with such rude staff. The girl waiting on us would not check on us and was chatting with other staff while they were all on their phones by the door talking amongst each other. I’d wave her down to ask for another drink or whatever we needed and she had the worst expression on as if we were bothering her. I would say thank you and she’d just walk away and turn her back toward us. So rude it was disgusting. Also, the food was sooo salty and not made with love at all! When we initially walked in and we also had to ask for someone to wait on us after sitting for almost 15-20 minutes! The worst customer service I’ve dealt with ever. If they don’t want to work then don’t! I’m not sure if it was a case of classism but I will...
