We have the longest beach in Lake Havasu City. One mile. We are one of the oldest campgrounds in the area. We are a campgrounds, not an RV resort, but if you like the water and want a place to get wet...our beach should be just what you are looking for.

Start your review of Crazy Horse Campgrounds. Melissa Y. Sacramento, CA 01113 7/5/2021 5 photos Way better than expected. I have no idea why there are so many bad reviews. First it was hard to find any pictures of the "cabins" and second, everything was great! Private launch, albeit crowded cause we went on Fourth of July. I wanted to leave a review and pictures to show how great the cabins were. From the reviews I expected the worse and literally brought everything from chairs to bedding to pots and pans, but they had all of those things. They even had a washer and dryer. Our unit was A-6. A 2 bedroom 2 bath unit with 2 double beds and one twin and a large couch. Had a full kitchen and an outdoor patio space with outdoor table and chairs. We had no issues with neighbors and had plenty of parking at our cabin. The parking at the boat launch did get crowded, but I assume because it was Fourth of July. Everything was clean and they checked up on us to see if ever was working. AC worked great in the 115 degree heat! Sorry forgot to take pictures of the bathrooms and rooms, but they were great.

Kayla L. Arcata, CA 224 11/18/2021 Pros... convenient location Nice view of lake if you're on the lower part of the campground.
Cons... park is not maintained. The bathroom facilities are filthy. There is trash all over the beach. The cement pads at the campsites are broken and dangerous. There were people emptying their sewage at night (there isn't sewer hookups at any of the lower sites) Sites are very small. Our granddaughters toys were stolen when we left for a couple of hours. Loose dogs. People speeding in both cars and their ATVs. Very noisy... speeding boats, ATVs and a lot of partying. The staff does not patrol like they're suppose to.
When I called about these things later(no one was there to talk to when we were there) they only offered excuses. This was our 2nd time here and we traveled 900 miles one way. (the family that we met there traveled 1100 miles one way) We will not go back! Please keep in mind making the reservation that there isn't a refund regardless once you make that reservation. You can only change the dates. My advice is go to one of the nice state parks. It's also...
Read moreFirst off, anyone rating this as 4 stars must be doing so based on the views from the beachside campsites. This park has a lot of deferred maintenance. The cement pad alongside our spot was “some assembly required”. Huge chunks weighing 10 to 15 lbs were strewn about and the site next to ours was using one of them to anchor their outdoor rug (many sites had this issue). There wasn’t a table, though we were able to get one to our site, after asking on 2 successive days. While I will say the views from our beachside site are great, the park is so-so. We knew coming in here that there was no sewer (that’s fine, it’s right near the lake and they have to protect their water source from contamination). The “honeypot” coming by twice per week is sufficient and $10 is not a lot to pay for that. However, I really think when you are paying $65/night ($60 for the site plus $5 a night for a dog) and staying for over a week, they could throw in one free tank emptying service for each 7 night stay. However, $5/night for the dog is ridiculous as is their “dog run”. It’s a small (not fenced) 20 x 30 space with a low (2 foot) wall that does not surround the area but has several areas intentionally left open for ingress/egress. You have to keep your dog on the leash and essentially it’s just a sand pit. I translate “dog run” as a place where I can take my dog off leash (and they are usually in the corner of the RV park away from campsites). This one had 2 lanes of road running along on either side of and was surrounded by mobile homes. Nothing marks it as a dog run, it’s right next to the pickle court and there are no waste bags for droppings around (I always have one or two with me but not all do); so for all of these reasons, I was sure I was in the wrong place, despite the map of the park showing it. I’m not exactly sure what the $5/night is covering, because it isn’t the dog run/pickle court “maintenance”. Additionally, the rules state that your dog cannot relieve itself on any campsite (not even your own). Are you really supposed to walk to the one and only dog run/pickle court, which is kind of far from any of the beach sites, 7 times a day? And by the way, nobody WAS walking there regularly anyway. After the first few hours, I saw most people walking their dog along the roadside and allowing them to do their “business” there (and thankfully all were respectful and picking up after their dogs too). I don’t mind paying $60/night (it’s about average); but there really isn’t any amenity here (I guess the pool if it gets above 75 degrees), but with the lake 30 steps outside my RV who needs a pool? So, for anyone coming here, understand that it’s a place to park your RV with electric and water (some sites have sewer, but if you want to be near the water, you’ll need to pay another $10 or $20 to get the tanks emptied once or twice a week as needed). I won’t be returning here as the state park is 1/4 mile away from here, costs less and has better sites with more space. There’s a reason they don’t offer refunds and are upfront about this when you book by phone. If you drove up and saw what you were going to get, you’d drive off and find...
Read moreClassic bait and switch. The one picture of the "cabin" on the internet is nothing like the real cabin (see pics). After the mandatory $100 cleaning fee which you don't know about until the end of the booking process, and taxes, the nightly was $250. You can book a dozen other local nice hotels for $175/night and I recommend you do that rather than stay here. The condition of the carpet and bathroom indicates the unit is at least 20 years old. "Lake Havasu's oldest RV park" must be true.
They lock the thermostat so you can't lower the temperature (see Pic). That's fun when it's 120 outside. There's no fan in the bedroom so good luck sleeping with a static thermostat and no air moving. Though how you could sleep with the floor A/C register banging and sqeaking is beyond me. See the Pic of my coat hanger trick. Just remember to step over that if you get up at night. The cabinets in every room are less than ten years old but why would you need cabinets for a rental? The furniture is as old as the unit and has the stains to prove it (see Pic). The living room blinds are missing about half of the louvers (see Pic) which makes it pretty hard to sleep at night. Had to hang a sheet up. At $250 night you would think they could afford to replace the broken above range microwave but instead, they bought a tiny, one plate job and left it on the counter (see Pic).
There were no toiletries (bath soap, shampoo etc.). There was one bottle of hand soap for the bath and kitchen. The disposal didn't work and all the dishes had been put back in the cabinets dirty, like with visible food on them. The refrigerator works great though.
My wife wouldn't walk on the carpet barefoot is was that bad. Chocolate carpet was a good choice though to hide the stains.
My favorite part was where they towed me the last day after checking out (see Pic). The front office tells me that my parking pass only covers my unit, not anywhere else. They also tell me that they tried to call me and left a voice mail, but there was no missed call or voicemail on my phone.
It's worth $100 night but when you charge $250 it's a...
