"Heat" ain't hot. Will NEVER stay here again and I will ADAMANTLY discourage all my other boat owning friends to do likewise. OVERPRICED OVERPRICED OVERPRICED. The ONLY thing this place has is location. The location alone is the reason for the second star. It's a dump otherwise.
I'll list the reasons for my 2 star rating:
Rude staff, underwhelming amenities, no pool, the use of cheap building materials creates loud footsteps and shared noise from other guests, painfully slow cheap tiny elevator, noisy beds, bad parking, way overpriced.
Heat is clearly run by someone with horribly poor leadership abilities and no desire for repeat business. If you think spending nearly $300 per night DURING THE WEEK on a non holiday just to be treated like you're an inconvenience is a good experience then Heat is perfect for you. I will NEVER be back.
The day we were to check in, we were headed out on the lake with our boat. I called and asked if we could come check our luggage so our hygiene products didn't melt while were out on the water. The clearly irritated young lady who answered said, "ummmm, no we don't do that, check in is at 4." I persisted and she said, "there's a spot in the lobby where we had some couches but they're gone now so you can put them there if you want but the hotel is not responsible." Ok...any hotel I've ever heard of will gladly check your bags early...this was a first.
Another seemingly barely post-teen male employee was working the morning. I went to the lobby at 5 a.m. to find there was no hot coffee. I asked the eye rolling, Jnco wearing, pony tail adorned "clerk" if there was hot coffee elsewhere. This dude says, "I make coffee at 530, not before." Really? How about, "I can get that going for you and have a hot cup of coffee ready for you momentarily." or how about just making sure there is always fresh, hot coffee like every other hotel ever...
The room itself looked decent and the a/c was great but that is all the positive I can give this garbage establishment. This place is 100% there for location. Customer service is non existent and its not even close to be worth the money.
Heat is whack. Stay away if you're looking to have a...
Read moreI’ve stayed here before and usually have a good experience. I did have a good experience this stay as well up until today. Unfortunately, we had to check in late on Friday due to a flat tire we got on our way up. This is of course nobody’s fault but we paid $700 for a room we only got to enjoy for a day.
I was trying to request a late check out, literally by one hour and I couldn’t even get to the point of explaining myself because Angela was rude and abrasive. Extremely argumentative and seemed upset that I would even have the audacity to ask for a late checkout. I want to preface this by saying I’m not upset with the fact that I couldn’t get late checkout, but how it was said and how I was treated during the interaction.
She treated me very poorly. I called back asking to speak to a manager and Angela told me they don’t have a manager in. I asked for manager info and she told me she couldn’t provide me with anything but his name. Super odd. Just seems like she wants to do everything under the sun except provide good customer service.
On the other hand, I would like to shoutout Michael & the guy who checked me in. They were very nice and helpful. In fact, everyone there was nice and helpful except for Angela.
Her poor customer service will ensure we never return. Her poor customer service is also why this review isn’t 5 stars.
When you work in an industry like this, customer service is everything. I’m a business owner and I would be so upset if I had anybody as a face of my company who behaves themselves like this...
Read moreMy husband and I checked into the hotel with a very friendly staff. The room looked awesome until we went to bed. They had a goose down pillow top on the bed that was so indented from usage. And every time you moved the feathers poked you. We didn’t have a great night sleep. I’m the morning my husband went to get into the shower and no hot water. After about 25 minutes trying to get hot water, I finally called the front desk at 8:45. The girl at the front told me that the maintenance guy, Jose would be in in about 20-30 minutes. I asked if anybody else has complained of no hot water. She said she got in at 7 o’clock and no one is up yet so she’s not sure if anybody else has hot water was her answer. We got a phone call back saying sorry for more bad news but the Jose won’t be in today but I can compensate you 20 to 30% off your room. I said, but how am I supposed to take a shower and go about my day. All she could say is I can compensate you 20 to 30%. I asked to speak to a manager. She said there is no manager today. When we checked out, I asked for a manager to please call me, when he was back in, which would have been Monday, February 24 today. Still no phone call, I called they told me that the manager won’t be in till next Tuesday. Besides the friendly staff, I think it’s ridiculous that a manager is not on site to handle crucial issues such as No hot water. I’m hoping that I hear back from a manager to discuss this. Left a message as of 330 today Monday,...
