I was extremely unimpressed with the Javelina Cantina. As a tourist to the Lake Havasu area, the Javelina has a great location to attract tourists. But the service there was utterly absurd. The waitress never gave us her name. She continually came back and kept asking, "How is everything?", when clearly all of our drinks were empty. She said she would bring a pitcher of water that did not arrive at our table until 10 minutes later. She blamed another co-worker for not bringing the pitcher of water, which was an extreme turn off as a customer. The food had to be the best part of the experience and it still wasn't anything to special. Once our bill got dropped off the waitress clearly said, "Oh you look bored, so here is your bill and I just won't mention the desserts to you." My whole family was extremely appalled and I could not believe she actually mentioned that to us. We may have looked bored but I was examining how 3 of their patio tables were propped with dining napkins. The patio floor was dirty and there were seat cushions on only a few chairs, while at the end of the patio, sat the rest of all the cushions. Only a few tables were set and the whole patio looked very inconsistent, and all of the empty tables were not unison with each other. The host chose not to tuck his shirt in, and after wiping down a table, proceeded to put the rag in his apron! Gross!!! I don't think I could ever recommend this restaurant to anyone without risking my credibility as someone who has worked in the restaurant industry...
Read moreWe ordered our food to go and when we got home to start eating we found we couldn’t eat 3 out of the 6 items we ordered. The first was the queso; there was melted plastic in the dip as they packaged the salsa on top of the queso which caused the lid to melt into the cheese, making it inedible of course. Second, the catfish and fish in the seafood salad were both rotten. Not even just a bad smell, but a dirty flavor indicating they were rotten. When we called to ask for service we were told the hostess would call us back the next day as she had left for the night. After waiting the Next day and receiving no call, we went into the restaurant to try and speak to a manger. We were told the manager was busy and since we were unable to wait, we asked them to please call us once finished. After another day we still have not received a call. This has been a disappointing experience as this management clearly does not value the customer and experience/service provided. Unfortunately we will not return to or recommend this restaurant to any others due to the lack of accountability and genuine care for the customer, even at a manager level. You served us rotten fish, queso that could possibly give us cancer, and still couldn’t even manage a phone call to at least apologize or redeem...
Read moreLove how close they are to the area that we are staying. This is the second time I've eaten at this place. The food looks amazing each time it's been brought out. The chips were delicious. My first visit I ordered a grilled chicken super burrito. Unfortunately it had an odd crunch to it so I only had a few bites. The waitress noticed I hadn't touched my food and asked if everything was okay. My boyfriend inquired about the crunch in the burrito and she responded that there was nothing that should have been crunchy in it. So she comped the plate and brought me a hard shell chicken taco 🌮. Which was absolutely delicious! Our second trip back I tried the choose 2 items build your own combo and got 2 of the specialty grilled chicken tacos. I subbed their cremé fraiche for regular sour cream on the side due to food allergies and when the plate came out I was a bit disappointed that it was still made with it. The waiter did bring me a side of regular sour cream and I managed to scrape out the chicken and made my own tacos with the second tortillas that my tacos were wrapped in and the regular sour cream. Unfortunately, because the cremé fraiche was mixed in with the chicken I still got sick a few hours later. My boyfriend got the chicken fajitas both times...
