We've been going to Havertys since moving to lakeland fl. We have unique needs, our sweet cats lol. Havertys had the only sectional material/fabric that was purposed for those with dogs or cats. Its pretty much impenetrable from dog or cat nails... and it works! Anyway, we're on our second sectional from them; not due to any pet issues, just got tired of what we had and needed a new fresh look...but same material! Well, we got new sectional last year and couldnt be happier. Several months ago, we had a few issues with the controls that started malfunctioning. Repairs/warranty started, and then things went south a bit with said warranty carrier. Not getting into that here. Long story short, a few weeks ago, we decided to go there again and see if we could get another sectional or pieces to replace what had gone bad. We were met by Dawn, sales, who was great in helping us. But then we started to tell her what had happened. She came up with some really cool solutions, got the manager, Tiffany involved, all information shared, then, the most amazing thing happened. Seeing how long we had been waiting for repairs and service, seeing how we've been loyal customers and didnt come there to lose our minds on them, lol, Tiffany blindsided us and said, 'we're going to replace the pieces in question at absolutely no cost to us.' WOW!!!! This wasnt marketing, this was just plain old brick and mortar customer service at its best. The way it should be. We werent expecting anything at all; we went to look and possibly buy! Luck had it that they still sold our sectional in the same material and color (it comes in one lol). Three days later, we had our replacements. Happy as can be. The quality of their furniture is, by our standards and needs, way above all else we saw in years past. They're not 'rooms to go' or kanes or citi, etc. Nothing wrong with any of those, just didnt have what our needs required. Theres also better out there. For us, and our pets, they're the only ones who carried anything that was designed for owners of cats and dogs. For our money, its Haverty's. Thank you Tiffany R. and most certainly,...
Read moreMy husband and I purchased a Saturn sectional almost 2 years ago. When I purchased the sectional, my main request was that if it was going to be discontinued since we wanted to buy additional pieces later on, and I was assured that it would not be. If I knew the sectional would’ve been discontinued I would’ve never bought it. At the beginning of this year, I was looking at purchasing pieces and I was told that the sectional was discontinued. They did have an ottoman left and we decided to purchase it. When we got it home, the dimensions were not as described on the website and we noticed the a distinct difference between the ottoman and our sectional. Our sectional is not in direct sunlight, cleaned with leather cleaner regularly and we do not allow our dogs on the couch. I spoke to someone who worked at the store and the only offer they could give me was they could sell me accent chairs that would go with our sectional or file a claim. We filed a claim with Guardian. My complaints were a couple of scratches and the wear of the leather. When I went to go submit it, there were no options for my complaints and the representative. I spoke to was not helpful. We decided to not file the claim since none of the options fit our situation. Two separate individuals recommended me to shop at Haverty’s. One of them was a prior employee and the other was a family member who also had the same issues regarding the quality of the product and the lack of customer service from Guardian.
I feel like I was lead on by the saleswoman. We spent almost $5000 on the pieces that we have. We are still in the process of paying for the sectional. For the price we were charged, I expected better quality and customer service. I requested to even do a buy back option, which I was advised that the return window is only 30 days.
I would not recommend Haverty’s to anyone looking for good quality and long lasting furniture and will never purchase an extended warranty that is through Guardian again. Now, we are stuck with a sectional that does not fit our needs and no means to be able to accommodate our needs, which was my...
Read moreWe have bought most of our furniture from Havertys over the past 15 years. Generally we love The Lakeland showroom is very nicely set up to display room sets and furniture. Although they have a lot of high end/quality items that are higher priced, they also have some mid range items that are more affordable. I consider their quality to be much higher than Rooms To Go or Ashley Furniture or Badcock, with prices that reflect that, however I also think their quality is a good as much of Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn but with significantly more reasonable prices. Their selection is largely transitional items and modern/contemporary items. More so than a place like Ethan Allen that is more traditional or Crate and Barrel that is more modern. We always do a lot of searching and end up back at Havertys because their style/design combined with the price makes for the best value. For example we will use a bedside nightstand. You can get 1 from Target for $99 with some MDF, staples, and plain finish, that is smaller in scale than a normal house is sized for. One from Ikea for $110 that is simple, wood with a simple finish that you have to put together yourself, but is also smaller in scale than traditional life time furniture. One from Ashley that looks more like higher end furniture, costs $199, but is made from pressed cardboard and fake finishes, but is properly scaled. The Havertys version will be $349, but is solid wood with a multi-layer finish, and properly scaled. The Crate and Barrel version will be $799, solid wood, but designed for an industrial loft apartment. The sales people are friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy, but they do have some sales pitches for their 5 year furniture care extended warranty. We have bought a leather sectional, dining room table with 10 chairs, a fabric electric dual recliner, a living room TV console with 2 matching end tables, and a complete bedroom set. Everything is solid wood with some veneers, nice joinery, and...
