Ben greeted us when we arrived on a Sunday and directed us to the nearby "Old Key Lime House" as our room was being readied. It was an easy ten minute stroll and a "must visit" kind of restaurant. Our apartment room are newly renovated and a basically brand new. Both Ben and Rob asked if everything was OK and if we needed anything. The Barefoot Mailman is under fairly new ownership and they are striving to improve. My girlfriend liked the apartment room. It was clean and set away from the other rooms a bit. Rob was nice about my girlfriend making a few suggestions, such as to have some dish detergent and a sponge in the kitchen. We spent more time here than we intended because of seeing family less because of covid. The grounds are a garden...very lovely. We had a pineapple growing outside the room! We even liked the train going by every now and then. It was not too loud to be annoying or to wake us at night. Several restaurants are within walking distance as is a Walgreens. We never got around to trying the Cuban Restaurant that was across the street. Lake Worth Beach and pier is better than Lantana Beach and a short drive away. Cruise down a few streets to see the cute "Lake Worth Cottages" while you are there. For a nice romantic stroll try the nearby "Lantana Nature Preserve" and the "Hypoluxo Scrub Nature Area". The king bed was comfortable. The shower was nice. The outdoor seating area in the garden was pleasant. It featured ice, a coffee machine, and fresh fruit. The clothes washing machine was out of order, but would have been a nice bonus. The property was quiet at night. No noisy parties. Please keep it that way. We'll be back the next time we...
Read moreFirst thing: If you love chain Hotels that look the same, this place is probably not for you. Although, my recent experiences with those establishments have been subpar due to staff shortages and lack of cleanliness. This place has "character". They took an old, "mom and pop" motel and have transformed it into something special. The outside common area is beautiful. Plenty of seating surrounded by beautiful flowers and garden decor. The rooms are clean and have refrigerators and microwaves. No coffeemaker in the room, but the outdoor seating area has a Keurig coffeemaker, coffee, fruit, danishes and an ice maker. The bathrooms are the only thing that makes this place feel like an old "motel". They are kept very clean but don't have the charm of the rest of the property. Obviously, management can only work with the "bones" of the structure, and hopefully they will get enough business that they can upgrade the aesthetics of the bathrooms. The location is within walking distance to the intercoastal and numerous restaurants. We were even told by the staff that the beach was a 15-20 minute walk away as well. Unfortunately, we did not get the chance to go to the beach this trip. As previous reviews stated, there is a train track nearby, so you hear the trains. I travel with a fan and sound machine anyway so the trains did not bother me. It is a less invasive sound than noisy neighbors in most hotels. The staff we encountered were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to...
Read moreNot really sure what happened… usually welcomed with open arms here, upon trying to get a room yesterday my fiancé was told we can’t rent there anymore, claiming that smoking vape pens are against the rules and the guy at the window went as far as calling my fiancé a cocaine addict, where we clearly do not live that lifestyle. So for the unwarranted accusations had to drop the rating… They also don’t seem to like anyone who isn’t 50 plus out who actually moves around…. Never see any young people here, everyone who’s here is basically long term tenants on the downswing….. there are little boards with rules that seem childish… can’t be outside your room after 11? Can’t have a guest…. Can’t have a vape apparently… it almost looks and feels as though the very LM he’s trying to keep out of here it was renting here long term and he’s completely oblivious….Which is kind of funny because this guy runs background checks on every person that tries to rent the room here… It’s not hard to tell looking around other people that are always there… Me and my fiancé stayed one or two nights a week sometimes every other week and it’s the same tenants in every room every single time… We’ve been stopping by this place for a little over a year now it’s the same people living there… I will say that it seems like the Indian ran places it seems are the ones to quickly flip without any real explanations… see my review about the inlet inn..
Anyways we did not appreciate the treatment so we can’t recommend this...
