One of the most disappointing Saturday night dinners I've had in a long time. Checked out this place because our favorite place down the street OLD KEY LIME HOUSE was too long a wait, so we looked at Ravish, saw items on menu that looked interesting and they had a live guitar player and it looked like nice setting sitting outside. That was about all that was good. Waited couple minutes to even get a host to come to front. The guy sat us right away and 15 minutes later still no server. Finally, the guy who sat us, not a server, came to see if we were ready to order and drinks. Food came out in reasonable time, but wife had to send hers back ( we had to grab someone else's server to come to us) because her veggie parm was cold. My meatloaf I ordered was so bland and tasteless , you couldn't tell what you were eating....WORD TO CHEF....try a spice, salt ,pepper, anything to give it some taste. Ironically, people at next table over had ordered same meatloaf before me and I saw their server take it back.... At no time did anyone come back to see if drinks needed refill or if everything was OK since my wife had to get hers heated back up. The guy that was our makeshift server was also seating people. When he brought bill, I asked " you guys short-handed tonight?"", he replied they had a 10 party and 20 party that was hitting them at same time as he was walking away with cred card and bill. Like he had no extra seconds to stand there and offer what was the issue-- I could live with the wife's cold item and my tasteless meatloaf, but SERIOUS lack of service, that's a real problem!! It seems this is the underlying problem on the bad reviews, lack of service......too many other choices out there....especially in this business where you don't get a 2nd chance to make a good 1st impression. Never again on this place!
Follow up to Owner, I notice in your response, not ONCE did you apologize for service issue.....that was my MAIN complaint, and you know darn well from being in this biz-- when you dine somewhere --is service not at least 50% of the experience??? You probably also saw I wrote on the receipt mult X " poor service"", you mentioned the few reviews I have written, of course there will be a few negative.....WHY ELSE DO PEOPLE WRITE REVIEWS?? And, you said I had some 4's and 5's....obviously I'm complimenting good serv/food!!! And, if you want to be technical, I said of the NEGATIVE reviews, it's usually a service issue!!! When you write back "challenging " responses, it makes you look condescending and defenseless.....all you had to write back was a generic apology , we may have caught you on a rough night, if this was my restaurant, I'm apologizing and maybe giving some reasons why you were service short-changed, and maybe just putting it out there to ask for me, the owner next time...to make it right for you-------NOT SPARRING with the " customer".
Follow up,
No need to respond--- but AGAIN, in 2 replies you NEVER apologized about the lack of service, I said we were seated right away....but getting a server was the task the entire meal.....you keep ON and ON about the stupid meatloaf, ADDRESS the MAIN PROBLEM I had, lack of service!!!! I said I could live with parm not fully cooked and bland meatloaf but NOT when you constantly gotta "borrow" someone else's server to get...

Read moreFirst, let me start by saying we love this place. Great ambiance! We have been eating here for quite some time and recently took friends to dinner two weeks in row. The first week was our first time ordering from the new menu. It seems like the new owners are trying to save money by changing the menu. By that I mean the previous fish taco dish was served with 3 tacos, a good amount of wonderful slaw and a small arugula salad. The current dish is three dry tacos, hardly any slaw on them and a side of beans and dry rice. I'm all about change but this one missed the mark. There were 3 servers on shift for a Friday night and getting drink and silverware proved to be an issue. We were patient and made the best of the evening. This last Friday we took another group of friends as we thought we'd give the new menu another go. Two of us ordered snapper which at 7pm they were out of. I believe grouper was the substitute. We ordered it anyway. The fish was dry, the rice was plain and the bock choy, although good was 1 small piece of greenery. The mango salsa that was listed on the menu to come with the dish was missing all together. My husband ordered the burger which was excellent and the other gentleman with us ordered the fish tacos. He had had them before from the previous menu. The fish was overcooked and the beans and rice were nothing to write home about. I ordered a martini at dinner and it was served with no garnishment. When I asked for olives or small onions I was told they were out. After dinner we sat at the bar and to our surprise 6 drinks (4 Titos and soda and 2 Old fashioned drinks with Makers Mark) totaled $210.00. So, needless to say we will not be back nor will either of the couples that we brought with us. It seems the bar is intended to be an attraction with wonderful drink concoctions. However the bar is rather small to support that. Maybe put more effort into the food, the paired down menu and the waitstaff. It's too bad because we really love the ambiance of this place. It just seems the new owners are missing the mark. Good...
