East Side Pizza — Restaurant in Lantana

I hate to leave a bad review anywhere, and I have had positive experiences in the past with this place. I am empathetic to busy restaurants growing up around one, but my experience tonight should be noted as it was poor from start to finish

I placed an order for delivery around 5:30. When I called, the person taking my order asked if it was going to an address I previously ordered to. I said no, and provided the new address. I was quoted about 45 minutes delivery time.

After about an hour and 15 minutes, I called in again and was told they were working on my order, and it would be another 20 minutes.

After about an hour and 45 minutes had passed, I got a call from my family member asking if I had delivered food to them. My order was somehow delivered to the wrong address despite asking when I ordered and me providing the correct address, including detail on the apartment building (it was delivered to a house).

I called and explained the issue, and was put on hold for about 20 minutes. I had to physically go to the store to get through to anyone to give me a simple refund for this mess up.

In the store, it was clear it was busy, and I can appreciate that, but I was met with what can only be described as very dismissive service. The person at the register acknowledged me and my request, and then started taking another customers order instead, which was truly baffling. You’d think after all the issues with my order, the least they could’ve done after I had to come into the store to be acknowledged would be to give me the courtesy to refund me before taking another order.

Finally, someone from the kitchen came out and asked what I needed, and issued me a refund with an incredibly brief and apathetic one word “sorry.”

This place has great pizza, and I hope this is a one time issue, but there were so many opportunities to resolve the issue along the way (stop taking orders if unable to fulfill previous ones, double check delivery instructions, don’t leave someone on hold for 20 minutes after delivering their order 2 hours late to the wrong address, dont force a customer to come in to get a refund for this, sincerely apologize at any point during any of this). Today was the first time I’ve ordered from here and I can say it was very good. I appreciate the extra effort that they placed with my making delivery to statically pleasing! They had a seal sticker for the pizza box, the celery and blue cheese in little baggies, everything so organized just the way I make my lunch for work and the way I used to make my kids lunch for school. The presentation of the food was phenomenal! The garlic rolls were extra soft and not over cooked just the way the love them! The 20 piece garlic parm chicken wings were seasoned and crispy. The calamari was good, I personally like the them super well done which that’s my fault I didn’t specify that. I asked for the pizza to be well done and it was and the food was hot just the way I like it. We only eat out maybe once to twice a month and I spent about an hour online just going there menu with a fine tooth comb lol . The young lady that took my order I think she’s the owner, super helpful and patient with me, I could here they were super busy but she still took the time to answer my questions and take my order without making me feel like I was bothering her. I definitely felt that warm feeling of great service just by being on the phone with her. I order two large pizzas, 12 rolls, 20 wings and fried calamari and she even put hot sauce in the bag, that actually put a smile on my face and I said to my son this is impressive.
