Cracker Barrel Old Country Store — Restaurant in Lawton

The food is decent usually but the service is very unpredictable. Sometimes you can go in and get a good waitress or waiter but other times we've gone in and had horrible experiences with the staff. On two separate occasions we've given them our name to wait for a table and after an hour realized they never put us on a list. The hostess the first time was very apologetic saying she thought we were going to leave and got us right in. The second time a waitress took our name then disappeared only to return to seat other people before us. After an hour we were going to try and catch her but saw her leave because I'm assuming her shift was over so we just left too instead of waiting even longer for someone to come out and be put back on a list. They also have a hard time getting orders right. We've been a few times where we had to wait quite a while to get our food only to find out they put our order in wrong and gave us the wrong food. An example being once I ordered fried catfish with fried okra and got blackened catfish with green beans. The bathrooms are also pretty dirty as in worse than convenience store bathrooms. They are not handicap friendly either because the layout of the store and restaurant are very cluttered feeling. There's only very narrow walkways through the store which you have to walk through to get to the dining area and the dining area has tables close together so that a person in a wheelchair would always be in someone's way if they could even get in in the first place. Like I said before though the food usually is decent so maybe ordering take out is the way to go and then you don't have to deal with the bad service...

I always order the south west special. This time I did the waitress came back to the table 25 minutes later and said they didn't have that now all it is is hash brown casserole with scrambled eggs and crumbled sausage and biscuits with gravy over the top of it. I reorderd hash brown casserole with gravy and biscuits and eggs they had that. Just don't make sense. 5/19/22 Best advice about the one in Lawton it should be closed till a MANAGER can be found. 2/17/23 thought I would try this location one more time. The waiter was great the coffee hot then the food came out the bacon was barely warm no crispy to it. The biscuits weren't ready with our meal they came out 10 minutes later they were warm just enough to rise and were doughy in the middle. everything on the new menu went up at least $3.00 this place needs to be looked into by corporate this place has been in down fall for years and should be put to rest its food has dropped quality so much it'll probably never recuperate 4/9/24 went in for lunch I ordered the fried chicken dinner and was told the fryer for the chicken is broken. So I ordered something else and about 10 minutes later the waitress brought out three chicken strip dinners when asked about it. I was told it was the fryer for the bone in chicken fryer that was broken not the chicken strip fryer. 6/5/24. Some great waitresses, but every time I've been, they have been out of the first three things I try to order. Tonight I tried to call in an order and they were out of meatloaf, broccoli chicken (special of the day...), and sweet potatoes. I was told they were out because I was trying to order too late at night. I figured dinner at 8:45 PM was safe considering they close at 10 PM...

After learning they were out of these things, I let them know I would review the menu again, find something else, and call back (I was trying not to waste their time). I called back a few minutes later only to be transferred 3 times by the person who answered the phone. She kept transferring me to the kitchen only for it to ring without an answer and then I was sent right back to her. After the third time, I asked for the manager, was on hold for a while, and the manager answered and transferred me right back to the kitchen that wasn't answering before. Finally, an annoyed sounding person answered and as I tried to order, I was being rushed to finish. I was the one on hold with them for a while; some courtesy when I finally reached someone willing to take my order would have been nice.

Hopefully the food will be handled gracefully and without carelessness...

Love Cracker Barrel, but this one is not like the ones I know and love in SC!

Edit: I had to change my review from 2 stars to 1 star. After getting home I saw they left out the Mac and cheese as well as the side of vinegar. Michelle apologized, but boy was that experience rough. Haven't even gotten to tasting the food yet. Hope that...
