My husband and I was treated horribly by a woman named Mellisa who stated she was the manager of this location. As a customer service manager myself I have never witness such horrible customer care by a woman who was unprofessional but also dress poorly representing the front desk wearing a black worn out tea shirt. My husband and I booked a room at this location and had wished to pay for a late check out. Melissa was rude from the beginning telling us we had to be out in 15 min by noon. I then called back to the front desk and asked if we could simply just pay for the room one more night. Melissa said we would have to come up to the front desk to handle another night reservation. I had my husband go down to the front desk because our room was paid for with his card. He was told that he couldn’t handle this situation that it had to be me. Before I could even get dressed Melissa was calling our room insisting I need to go to the front desk to confirm another night. I had a horrible migraine and this was the reason for us wanting more time with either a late check out / another night. When I got to the front desk I was treated as if I was some kind of bum asking for my I.D. And room keys. I stated that I never showed an ID the night before and was confused why I had to go back to my room again for them. When I returned with the ID and cards I simply asked the lady at the front here name. She told me she was Melissa and asked if there was a problem. I proceeded to tell her I was annoyed with how my husband and I are being treated. The thing I was most confused with is why my husband couldn’t handle this reservation. She then rudely snapped back that the room is in my name. The rudeness is what was uncalled for and one would assume that the room was under the name of the person who’s card was used to pay for the room and held for the deposits. I was quickly and once again rudely told that she don’t have to extend me a night and that I can leave. What kind of customer service is this?? Where I come from in this line of work a manger tries to resolve customer issues not push away paying customers. Then I got another call from another staff at the hotel named Emily who told us we had to get out or they were turning us in for trespassing. She told me that I had 20 minutes. So I had to quickly get my belongings together and get out of an available room that I was willing to pay for feeling nauseated due to the horrible migraine I had. As we left the hotel there was three woman at the front desk dressed very unprofessional standing around eating food at the front desk acting as if paying customers leaving wasn’t a concern for them, one being Melissa whom claim she was management. I would be very concerned if I was the owner of this company!! I stayed at the North location for 2 weeks 4 months ago and never had one issue there. The customer service at this location far trumped how your treated at the...
Read morereally wish I wasn’t complaining right now. I really wanted to enjoy my stay at your hotel. I thought it was reasonably priced, the photos looked good, it’s a decent location, and I could get a nice relaxing bath at the end of a long day. I am in town for business, I have recently acquired an account here in Lincoln and will be in the area frequently. First off, your receptionist today has been fantastic. She was super accommodating. When I got here I was asked which floor I wanted a room on, I asked for the first floor. She personally went and checked to make sure it was clean. It wasn’t. She told me there had been a large group check out that day and they hadn’t been able to clean the rooms fast enough. Alright, at least they are cleaning the rooms well. Then she sends me upstairs to a room, door wide open, dirty sheets in the doorway… Half cleaned room. We are getting somewhere. So I go back downstairs and ask for another room. I asked if I needed to pay the difference for a room one upgrade higher, she offered it for free. That was very nice of her and she didn’t have to do that. I get in this room, flip on the light switch, nothing… So I find the lamps everywhere, that’s fine. After dinner I fill the tub up, put my Epsom salt, I specifically bought to use in this giant jetted tub, flip the switch….. Nothing. So I pick up the phone to call the front desk, the phone doesn’t work. I soaked for awhile, go downstairs and let her know. I asked to speak to a manager because this is getting a little bit silly. No manager on site. That’s fine. I will wait until tomorrow. She says I need to hit the GFI switch on the outlet. Why wasn’t I informed of this before? Fine, whatever. But I came back up to my room and hit the switch, nothing. So I’m irritated by now. I turn on the TV, the volume wont turn up. I go into the living area, there is a crusty looking stain on the couch (when looking at the couch its on the left seat) and what looks to be a bacon crumble on the right. SERIOUSLY? You don’t vacuum your sofas when you clean? THEN I go to send this email, and my computer can’t even connect to your wifi because it is a security risk. Honest to God, it connects to every other hotel internet.
Ok now I am REALLY irritated. Not only did we have to search for a clean room, the light when you walk in doesn’t even connect to anything, the jets in the tub won’t turn on (but the fan in the ceiling is on), the phone to call the front desk doesn’t work, tv remote doesn’t work, couch is dirty. AND I can’t finish my work without connecting to my phone because your wifi is such a security risk.
What kind of hotel is this? I expected more than this. It looked like a reputable place. It had wifi so I could work this evening… As of right now, I am paying $113 to work from my phone in a dimly lit, silent room. Completely...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stayed at the AmericInn in Lincoln South for about a week. We had a pleasant stay overall!
Good breakfast food selection. Solid assortment of teas & snacks available all day. Air-conditioned stairs made a huge difference for when we wanted to skip the goose-honking elevator and get some exercise! Swimming pool was very nice, and open late for adults only -- a huge plus! We frequently had time where it was just the two of us. Hotel staff friendly and easy to approach, make requests of, and ask questions to. An overall pleasant stay with not too much to complain about! I've noted some improvements / issues below.
= Breakfast area much too crowded for the room count. And the food is good too, so you'll really be weaving through people sometimes! = Can pay to play games of pool, just talk to the front desk -- it's a bit awkward that it's in the swimming pool room, bumped balls could go straight into the water! = The smoking area is adjacent to a tree, which is nice, except for when the big air conditioner next to it starts stinking us away with stale air in the Nebraska heat.
Room lighting was overly harsh, not very pleasant at all. A cramped entrance and overall small space made it awkward to enter the main part of the room, and difficult to access the dated TV for smartphone hookup. Storage space lacking for a week-long couples' stay. Expect to live out of a suitcase for a bit. The minifridge is a bit awkward to access as well. Only one set of laundry machines for 3 floors of guests is optimistic... Very sad workout area inside swimming pool room. You will be imprisoned to watch others enjoy the pool in a weird manner while you use one of two available machines. No weights to lift.
While some of the issues above would require renovations, others are a bit easier to tweak. We wouldn't say no to coming back, the staff were...
