This motel was horrible. For $200 you get to walk up icy stairs that one foot can not entirely fit on. We stayed one night - King Bed - 2 adults one toddler. The room itself was big enough for us. And the floors and surfaces were cleaned. Bathroom as well was clean. The bed also was comfortable but the problem was everything else. |The door has a lock and chain. Once you push down on the door handle it opens the door even though it’s locked. So my toddler was literally going over pushing down the handle and trying to leave our room which of course we are standing right there so he never had the chance but even with the chain he was able to easily get thru the WIDE open space. The door doesn’t have a peep hole. I couldn’t get a door stopper to jimmy under door cause there is no space. When we got to the room the fridge was not plugged in. We put all our things in it including the milk for our toddler for the morning. Woke up in the morning and everything in the fridge is completely FROZEN SOLID! |I was trying to make coffee and they gave us ONE Normal coffee pack. Two adults. But gives us ONE! So I go to make a coffee and the entire pot is leaking everywhere. Doesn’t even fill to full and made a mess everywhere. Also we noticed the frame cover on the bed was full of stains. ||The towels they gave us two. That’s it. It barely would go around my leg let alone my body and it was full of stains. ||In addition to all of this we wanted to use our Amazon stick as we have done so in many other establishments but unfortunately the tv outlet only had space for the tv & and it’s internet box so neither could be unplugged to use the stick. Just a heads up to those family’s perhaps bringing a 2 outlet prong to plug in since it’s on the wall above tv. ||I’m glad we brought a nightlight because if the hair dryer was suppose to light up it didn’t in the night. ||Overall super disappointed paying $200 for a bed to sleep on with ZERO amenities in the winter. There is no breakfast even though there is a breakfast room. 🙄 ||And if anyone parks their trailer in the straight parking spots and you’re in the ones in front. Good luck trying to back out and get out. ||And if anyone shows up later to get in their room you will hear absolutely every single foot step and bang and doors closing - up half the night just listening to people getting...
Read moreI wish I could take stars away. I never was able to stay in the hotel. We came off a one day Pemi Loop hike and were beat. I forgot my reservation number and did not have a e-mail reservation from them. (They only give them if you request one apparently) I made my reservation from a land line a week before so I could not use my cell phone to look up the number and to top it off I could not remember the name of the hotel. All not smart on me. I turned on my cell phone at about 8:30 PM after having come off the trail. I checked my messaged. There were none from them. I them proceeded to call every hotel in the Lincoln area that had a pool as this was the only feature I remember from making the reservation. Every place in the area that was called with a pool said that they had no reservation for me. I have the list I made with the Roadway's name on it. I called them. They said i did not have a reservation.... I don't know why, probably an honest mistake.... Long story short, I found another hotel in town. I checked my credit card billing a couple days later and sure enough, the Roadway charged me. I called and spoke to one of the most unhelpful people I have spoken to in a long time. They said they called me and held the room for me and that they would have never told me I did not have a reservation. At the end of the conversation when I even conceded that I was not going to win this fight and get a refund I tried to give her some advice about making e-mail confirmations with their clients as a help to client, even if they don't ask for one, her response was "if you don't ask for one, you will not get one". If being a proprietor of a hotel is more of an art than a science then these people are signing their finger paintings with crayon. PS - They said they called me, but did not leave a...
Read moreDecided to stay here for July 4th to attend Independence Day festivities in North Woodstock and Lincoln. Not many choices for 1 night stays so we opted for this motel. For the price paid for 1 night at almost $200 I’d say it fell far short of acceptable. The office is tiny and only one person allowed at a time. Don’t try to check in before 4:00PM either. Our room was 221 on the left side of the building second level. You have to climb a narrow staircase to get to the second level and then walk a narrow balcony to get to your room. It is not protected from the weather. The room was small, with one king bed, and smelled of 40 year old funk. The TV did not work and the sheets, while clean, had holes and stains on them. Thankfully no bed bugs! The mini fridge was convenient and worked. The air conditioning from the 1970’s not so much. Would have been better leaving the windows open except for the road noise. The bathroom was clean but again very small and dated. No ice or vending machines to be found or anyone in the office to check out in the morning. Convenient to the Route I-93, North Woodstock/ Lincoln area. If you’re in a pinch for a place to stay this will do I guess but we won’t be staying here again and I don’t see how this place is AAA approved. No continental breakfast due to COVID but no discount on price. No AAA discount given and no refund for the TV and AC not working. Very...
