Stayed here in August for the Canton First Mondays. We had to move from our room because the microwave kept turning on on its own and sparking inside. When we told front desk they told us to just unplug it. We told them the way the builtin cabinet was you couldnt reach the plug. He gave us a wire hanger to see if we could hook the cord and pull. Eventually we just asked for another room because we needed the microwave. They moved us next door. This was around 11pm or so and kids were already laying down in beds. We were up early the next morning to Canton and when we got back our key wouldn't work. Went to office desk and they said we had only booked 1 night not 2 but that they left our stuff in the room. We had booked 2 nights. We got it all figured out then went back to room. Left early next morning on our way out to Florida and realized we forgot our nintendo switch in the first room on desk. We made sure the room we were leaving was completely empty before leaving and since we switched rooms so late the night before we must have left it on the desk in there. We called the hotel and they said they would check both rooms but couldn't check the first room because they had someone in there from the day before still, which means they put them in a room with a faulty microwave. They didn't call back so we called them and they said housekeeping didn't find anything. We asked if they checked with the family in the first room but they said they had already left. So basically I gather that they didn't clean the first room before selling it to someone or they would have seen it on the desk, or their housekeeping kept our nintendo switch. Which also had over 10 games in it so $500 worth all together. I do not recommend this hotel. Every time we called to see if they talked to the housekeeping it was the first time they were hearing they should be asking housekeeping if...
Read morePros: The hotel was clean and so was the room. The room was very clean ++. The breakfast area and food was fresh. Breakfast room (cook - Hispanic lady) was very nice and welcoming. Made me feel seen.
Cons: The guy at the front registration wasn't very friendly - didn't say hello when I had as I came in. He wasn't very responsive when I asked a question, or ever look up at me. Just kept looking down the whole time I was being registered.
The bath room towels looked dingy (old). The room door needs weather stripping or something to help the huge air and light gap - when lights are out in the room, you can almost see into the hallway and the light from the hallway easily comes in the room along with noise.
The breakfast area: The lady who appears to be in charge of tidying up the breakfast area was eyeing me the whole time I was getting coffee to see how much of a mess I would make. She was so disappointed when I walked away and she didn't have anything to wipe down. Not that it's a bad thing to clean up after each customer but, to make it so obvious that she was behind me every step of the way? No customer likes to be shadowed by staff like that. Not even my mom would do that. Lol.
However, I possibly would stay here again, mostly because it was...
Read moreThis property is run by professional staff that goes well above and beyond the norm in ensuring that guests have an enjoyable, restful stay. The GM is especially passionate about the hospitality industry, going well beyond any normal attempt to mitigate any problems that arise (which isn't likely to happen if you stay at this hotel). I had a very minor issue and this gentleman went well out of his way to ensure that the situation was not only mitigated, but very much involved in the details to ensure a satisfactory outcome. My hats off to him and his staff of dedicated workers (and no, I don't know this individual, I was there on business). Beyond that, the room was immaculate, the furniture in excellent condition, the bathroom well stocked with towels and toiletries, no mold or mildew anywhere to be seen. The breakfast buffet included real meat, something that has become a bit lacking in most of my stays at other hotel brands. This was actually my first time at a Hampton Inn (my company usually has me staying at brands such as Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn, La Quinta, etc) and I was impressed. Kudos to the Lindale...
