Beachrunners' Inn — Hotel in Long Beach

We stayed here 2 nights. Host was great and the coffee/breakfast was awesome! The place was nice and very clean. Location was just a couple blocks from the beach but you need to drive to the waterfront area. My biggest problem with this place was that it was not air conditioned which we did not know. I would never have stayed there if I knew. It was hot even with the fans. I'm sure many times of the year you don't need AC but when we were there it was in the mid to upper '80s. The beds were very comfortable and the place was very clean, so that was good, but the water pressure in the shower was weak and the TV in the room was dated and small. ||The back patio area could have been really cool if they'd just update the furniture and keep it clean so you want to hang out there. Long Beach in general is nothing special and in areas slightly sketchy. Beaches aren't all that beautiful or clean either. The waterfront area is mostly chain restaurants, not really our thing. Overall, it was probably a decent value. We stayed there because we were flying out of that airport, but I wouldn't rush back to Long Beach. Like I said our biggest issue is that it was not air...

We stayed here for two nights before our cruise out of Long Beach. Pat was there to great us and showed us around. I love old homes and this house was very quaint with character. Our room was upstairs so no elevator but that was ok by us. The ceiling fan in our room kept us cool. For anyone complaining about air conditioning, most homes in CA don’t have or need it. The room was very nice, comfortable and clean. The neighbors next door were a little noisy but this is a house in a neighborhood. We slept in so didn’t have any breakfast which was fine for us. We hadn’t had a vacation in 3 years and we needed rest. It was close to everything and the beach is nice. The back patio wasn’t clean (leaves all over)so we couldn’t sit back there in the evening. Our room key didn’t work to lock the room door. When we got up to check out and return the keys, nobody was around. We locked the outside door and I had to drop the keys in the mail slot. I rang the ring doorbell. No answer. I called and just went to voicemail. I left a message about the keys and left. We liked the area but probably wouldn’t...
