To begin, I can't say this enough what a delight Kimber is on the front desk. Every time we check in she remembers us and is so welcoming! She is a true asset to this hotel.
As far as our actual stay, it was a bit mixed this time. The checkin process was great as always. However, when we arrived at the room we noticed there was a piece of furniture missing (ottoman). Though not a huge deal to someone who might not utilize the chair and ottoman, given that it is something that is used during our stay, we called the front desk right away to see what could be done about it.
Kimber answered and listened to our concern, said she would check with the manager right away, but the manager was on a phone call so it would be a few minutes. A short while later, a gentleman from the front desk was at our door with an ottoman and with him was a lady carrying a clipboard who escorted him into the room and didn't say much . We thanked them for their assistance in which the gentleman responded, lady did not.
The following morning, while getting on the elevator, we again saw the lady from the day before walking past. We said good morning, to which we got no response. Although finding that a bit rude, we continued up to our room where we finished packing to checkout and depart.
To our surprise, we found out that the lady in question was in fact the manager of the property. I can't tell you how shocked we were to find out that someone in that position and having had 2 interactions with us within a 24 hour period, would be so impersonal, especially considering that all of the staff seems so friendly and helpful.
Overall, the stay was good and the staff (except the manager) were a delight! We always try to understand that people may be having a bad day, but to have a similar response 2 days in a row from the manager we just thought...
Read moreOverall I had a great time. I'll break it down as best i can Pro's: Staff was friendly, and having runners to the restaurant to take orders while the Convention was going was great! (kudos to David for putting up with the slight confusion from our table). Hotel is close to many food places. Food in the Dinner area had simple choices and variety for the Convention. Breakfast in the morning had a nice variety of foods (would love to have seen grits though, even if it was instant packages to mix with hot water) Cloths washer/dryers were available on the our floor so we wouldn't have to haul cloths downstairs.
Con's: (Some are just nit-picky) Bed is too high off the ground to my liking. (bring a small step ladder if you have short legs or difficulty getting up on an elevated surface). The TV only had about 10 channels tops and they all Sucked! It was also stuck on "HDMI" screen when it's first turned on. Luckily my Boyfriend knew how to put it on the TV part. I'd of loved to hook up my phone to it so I could at least watch my YouTube Video's or other Media on my Phone. (at no extra cost). For the room I was given 371, while it was mostly close to the Convention I was there for. it was NOT an easy route to/from the Lobby, and was at the VERY end of the hall with no other way down (not even a stair well) if there was a fire It would be a mad dash to the stair well which is two left turns down at least 20 yards +/- honestly that doesn't feel safe. So request NOT to be put on the 3rd Floor West wing for safety! The shower curtain didn't go far enough down into the tub to stop the water from running out (slip hazard) There was also brown staining in the ceiling where a leak had once been that needs to be painted (at least for now) No ice machine in the immediate area, we would have to go to the 1st floor (or 2nd...
Read moreI found this place after extensive research online and it appeared to be the best of all the options, but I had a little bit of trouble when booking had to call four or five times due to disconnections and confusion and just being told there were no available rooms even though there were rooms available online, etc. but overall I feel like Clint did what he could to make it right and had some rude interactions while I was there not sure what the reasoning is as I know I was being really nice due to just being exhausted and not wanting to complain, but I was excited for the food as I looked at the reviews for the restaurant and the food was not that great for the price but overall, I was able to sleep well and everything was clean and the staff who is cleaning the room any interaction had to staff in the elevators or at the front desk I feel made up for the few rude interactions I had but when you're in hospitality, I feel like people should be trying to go above and beyond as that's the expectation for paying higher prices to stay at a nicer hotel, which was my intention when I booked the hotel, etc. business trips are stressful sometimes and where you get to stay is a highlight to me and very valuable, which is why I did the research but I think I'll try other hotels next time and hopefully I'll have some success. The next time I stay in Longview. This was my first time staying in Longview and I am so far set on making day trips and not having to stay there as a result of this Wednesday but who knows what will happen in the future I know that everyone deserves second chances and I'm not upset. I just don't have time go through things again or stress over things that are just...
