IHOP — Restaurant in Longview

The renovations are nice. That’s about it. I have had some bad experiences here before so I was hesitant to come back but I decided last night to give them a chance, my mistake. First off you had servers walking around on their cell phones, second it was dead when we got there then they got a small rush, well that overwhelmed our server. Salad and soup should come out BEFORE the main course, when I told her that she looked at me like I was crazy. She took them back and told us they would be made fresh when we were done with the soup and salad. She never came back to our table aside from to give us our check. The manager (I think) had to bring us our food it was still wrong but we ate it anyways. Had to ask for refills even had to ask for ketchup. The 2 tables next to us both had their food messed up as well. One ordered grilled cheese. Well it was cheese but it wasn’t grilled. It wasn’t even melted. The others order wasn’t even what he had ordered. I understand busy. I’m pretty forgiving most of the time. They weren’t apologetic. No discount, nothing my wife didn’t even eat her food. Really didn’t even seem to care. I told the “manager” that we wouldn’t be returning. She just looked at me, didn’t say anything, just kinda blank stared at me. Honestly this was by far one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in my entire life. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go here. Not even worth it for the 2am drunk crowd. Go to Waffle House at least you get what you expect there. Oh and when your servers are off the clock and in their street clothes the shouldn’t be in the back/kitchen/prep area talking to the other servers about buying cigarettes and other personal matters....

Service was extremely slow it seemed like most staff members just wanted to talk amongst themselves instead of really helping the customers.

Food was amazing and was delicious unfortunately our waiter did not deliver it to our table because he was too busy disappearing. Took a while to get a refill on my Dr Pepper and when I got my second refill it was absolutely disgusting. Of course my server was nowhere around for me to tell em about this and to receive something else. So I ate the remainder of my meal without anything to drink. Yeah the server never came to check up on us. At the end of the meal I asked for a to go box and receive two tiny little boxes. I had half of my food still left, my daughter had half of her food still left & my other family member had food left. No way all this would have fitted two tiny little boxes.

As we were getting ready to leave the server at the table next to us told us to have a good day and hope that everything was good. I did want to mention to somebody that worked there that the Dr Pepper was horrible and I mentioned this to him. He was shocked and said that they had been cleaning that area soda machine and I should have never received a second serving of Dr Pepper because of that. He offered me some sweet tea to take home because of the mistake and he said he would definitely have a talk with the server who was supposedly there to...

I was in town and it was late. I said to myself and I haven't been inside the place in about 5 years. My fault. As I was walking in, it was like I was there yesterday. The greeting was as if I was in a time warp. I was greeted, and took to a booth promptly. My hostess got me something to drink and they menu pretty quick. The hostess was very polite and willing to wait or come back a s prompted to my specification. The hostess took my order and returned in a little bit with my order and polite conversation to make me feel at home. The hostess was grateful to show that I was welcome. Anything I needed the hostess to get was doing her best to make me welcome. The whole establishment wanted me to know the warped and feeling of the establishment was very energetic. When I got through with my meal, the hostess was glad to get to go tubs and a sack for my things and always had a smile of gratitude. There was one employee hostess that I remembered from years ago and I asked how long has he been there. The hostess replied with a smile impoliteness I'm about 15 plus years. And I remembered the hostess when he first started years ago. What a great surprise, knowing that somebody has stayed with the company this long. What a great blast from the past.
