Great stay. Staff was very friendly upon arrival. The room was clean and spacious. The hotel was quiet throughout our stay which was very good. We didn't use the pool or fitness room but they looked good. Breakfast was very good - a variety of foods. It was a really good experience and we'll be booking again on our way back through I40.
Edit a few years later in 2022:
I keep returning to this hotel. Over the past 4 years I’ve stayed here approximately 10 times and each stay has been pleasant. Any time something has been wrong with our room (once in the winter the heat wasn’t turning on, once we got a room that smelled like cigarettes), the staff immediately took care of it for us. I’ll keep returning to this hotel!
Edit for update in 2025:
We had been loyal guests at this hotel for years, staying around a dozen or more times over several years. That changed this past July 2025, when we were charged for a confirmed room that the hotel later canceled without notice, explanation, or refund.
Due to a booking error during travel, we accidentally reserved two rooms for July 12. When we called to cancel, the hotel and corporate told us only one room could be canceled, so we agreed and were charged for the one we kept. We even adjusted our travel plans to stay for the one night with the one room we kept.
On July 11, we received a confirmation email for our single night and room, and completed online check-in. The next day, while traveling on the road, we got an email saying our reservation had been canceled. When we called to see what was happening, the hotel staff offered no explanation and refused to reinstate the room or offer a refund. We then contacted corporate, which told us the hotel claimed that because we had originally asked to cancel both rooms, they suddenly decided to cancel both rooms. Yet this went against what we agreed upon previously.
The staff and manger here took no accountability by not offering a refund or offering us the room we already paid for and checked in for online. We filed a chargeback with our bank, provided documentation of all communication and payments, and the bank ruled in our favor and refunded us. That is why I am finally updating this at the end of September instead of July, because I was waiting for official notice that our bank fully approved the chargeback. This shows that our bank agreed that the hotel operated in the wrong by not refunding us or reinstating the room.
The staff at the hotel during this ordeal was very hit or miss. I spoke with one man who was neutral bordering on friendly, and another who was beyond rude and downright hostile. Corporate, however, was more useful and the individuals I spoke with at corporate even sounded bewildered by the whole situation. Apparently corporate has less control over issuing refunds than I had anticipated, which is why we had to go through our bank. We used to recommend this hotel. After how this was handled, we absolutely will not return. Be cautious booking here, confirmation apparently...
Read moreThis was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Driving home from Texas my husband wanted to stay at a halfway point. This was the area. The girl at the reception desk was very nice but everything after that was awful. We went to our room which had a bad smell to it. The room was dark and lighting was poor. I pulled back the sheets to check the bed and found hairs in the sheets along with yellow stains. I then removed the decorative material across the bottom of the bed and saw a good size yellow pee stain. I pulled the blanket down farther and saw more yellow pee stains. Told the front desk and she gave us another room across the hall. This room smelled worse. The beds looked cleaner but I always travel with a blanket so I spread it over top of the sheets and slept on that. The curtains had the hem torn out and they were blocking the air conditioner so I tied them up in a knot. I then noticed that the several of the curtains hooks were not attached to the curtain rod. I sprayed air freshener and perfume on the floor and beds to hide the smell but nothing worked. I got coffee from the dining area and it was cold. I tried the hot water and it was cold. I then slept few an hour then got up and cleaned up and sat in the desk chair which I draped with my blanket, until my husband woke up. We didn’t stay for breakfast. I didn’t think I would be able to eat with the smell. We left and ate at the McDonalds that was next door. Another thing was that my husband attempted to warm something up on the microwave and it started smoking. It smelled electrical. We didn’t try to use it again....
Read moreThe staff was rude and dishonest. I just had surgery to repair the drainage ducts in my eye, and I am now blind in that eye so I've had to adjust since since the accident. My nose bled while I was asleep. Their coffee maker went haywire and we used the towels to clean up the mess their coffee maker made. I did drop my makeup, my depth perception is way off, but we did our very best to scrub away the mess. We did not cause intentional damage or steal, we left the room clean. But we were charged $150 because I had a nose bleed in my sleep, and because their towels had coffee on them after their coffee maker malfunctioned and we cleaned it up. Insult to injury, the female behind the desk said I was drunk. I was not, I am newly legally blind, I can see but not well, and I get really scared and wobbly. This has been a degrading experience. If you make the mistake of getting a room here, whatever you do, don't start your period, have a nose bleed, or spill anything. I wouldn't even use the towels, I'd dry off with toilet paper instead. Just sleep in the floor. This...
