If you're like me, there's a certain picture that comes to mind when you think of a Days Inn - though not a disreputable business, for me it's certainly not one I typically associate with especial quality. You can imagine my surprise and pleasure, then, when I recently stayed at this apparently newly-remodeled location.
I debated on what number of stars to grant in this review, and in truth, were I permitted, I would be most comfortable with a 4.5. That said, however, I elected to go with 5 because when compared to other Days Inns and similar types of motels, this one was very-much deserving of 5 stars.
As I said, the rooms appeared recently remodeled and felt very up-to-date and clean in a way that was quite appreciated in a world still dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
I've seen a few other reviews mention bugs and unclean floors and wanted to address this. Yes, there were dead bugs in the floor in our room but it seems to me that all hotels, and especially motels given their immediate outdoor access, are likely covered in all manner of dirt, debris and dead bugs, it's just that carpet obscures such things and keeps them from blowing around. I would venture that the floors of our hotel were not particularly more or less clean than any other in terms of loose debris, it's simply that the hard laminate flooring made it more obvious. Still, laminate is ultimately cleaner than carpet so I happily prefer it.
The only real downside to our stay was that the water pressure of both our sink and shower were very weak. Not unusable by any...
Read moreI have stayed at this location before. It is located just right for my two day Indiana to Texas trips. Past stays have been fine, cost was good, room was clean, although I never really looked at the room that hard (read on). I was always tired from a long days drive, ready for sleep. I stopped again on Monday evening April 22, 2019. For this trip I had my daughter with me (thank God). While I started moving items into the room, she was stripping back the bed sheets looking for pests, and boy did she find them. I am not sure of the proper terminology, but they were what I will call "dormant bed bugs". A few years ago a neighbor of hers had a severe bedbug problem, which spilled over into her apartment and she became very educated about bed bugs. We pointed this out to the staff, who said they would move us. BEFORE moving we inspected the new room. It had an infestation of live, active bedbugs, It was disgusting! The good news was that there was a bedbug free motel across the street. If you feel the need to save $30.00 and stay here, strip back the fitted sheets at the corners and take a hard look. You may be surprised. I would have never known about this without seeing where they live and what they look like. It seems that they rarely run around in the open. I have made my last stay at this location. This was disgusting. I guess I was reminded that things aren't always what they seem.

I appreciate your response. All I really have to say in response is that we know...
Read moreWe were on a 12 hour drive for a funeral and needed to stop for the night. Booked online, price was good. Arrived right as our toddler woke up and started crying and screaming. DH went inside to check in and second door was locked. No big deal and not surprising, it was almost midnight. The issue was that there was no one at the counter to check us in. We could see someone at the customer computer hidden mostly from the front door. After about 5 minutes of waiting for someone to come to the desk and listening to son scream I went to the second door and knocked. Person at the computer was the employee. Annoying to say the least. Received keys, second floor in the second building. Great. Except when we got in there was the worst high pitch keening noise I'd ever heard. After a moment of looking around we determined it was from the ac unit. So the employee at the front desk who was upset about being pulled away from the customer computer gave us a room with the worst sound I've ever heard. And our options were to deal with her again, sleep in a hot room or deal with it. We dealt with it. The interior was decent, clearly updated somewhat. But do I wish I had booked another hotel? Yes I do. And there was a whole fully cooked crawdad on our doorstep that wasn't there the night...
