We experienced a confluence of operational failures, each small in an of itself, but which accumulated to a less-than-satisfactory experience at the Los Alamos Comfort Inn and Suites. Two days of our 4 night stay we returned to our room to find that our key cards did not work, and we had to go back down to the front desk to have the key cards reprogrammed. One of those days it took many minutes walking the facility to find a staff person who could help with our being locked out of our room. We had requested that the room be cleaned after our second night, but the requested room cleaning did not happen that day. The room was cleaned the next day, but that isn’t what we had requested. The coffee maker in the room was broken. We told the front desk, who assured us it would be fixed. It was more than 24 hours later before the broken coffee maker was replaced. The breakfast was reasonable for the hotel category. The room furnishings and décor were comfortable. (We are not fans of the configuration with the sink in the main room rather than in a separate bathroom, but many hotels were built this way in a particular era.) The wall-mounted climate control unit was fairly noisy, but that is also not unusual in this...
Read moreI travel for work, and have stayed in the Comfort Inn all across the west. This one is by far the worst experience I have had in any of them. First stay I didnt see room service for a week. The only reason I set up a second reservation was because they promised me rooms with 2 beds as was needed when I returned, and I was hopeful that all of the previous issues I had were just a cause of miscommunication. Instead when I got to the hotel 10 days after i had made the arrangement they told me it was not possible for them to provide the rooms I was promised because they were sold out. Every guarantee I have been given by them has been broken. They are charging me a higher rate to sleep on a couch in a shared room. 3 out of 3 of our rooms were overcharged on their cards on our previous check-out, and they made it a 3 day wrestling match over the phone trying to get the funds returned to our cards. If you want to avoid a complete hassle, stay at the Hampton in White Rock. Their rates are competitive, and they have always accommodated...
Read moreYou get what you pay for (or don't pay for). My husband and I did the Buy Two Lift Tickets, Get A Night Free deal, and kind of wished we hadn't... Full-price lift tickets are $48 a peice, then you also pay hotel fees and taxes, so all-in-all it was $114 for one night and two lift tickets. So, the hotel was very cheap (one star), the receptionist was very friendly (one star), and the room decently clean, there was a decent breakfast in the AM, free Wi-Fi, etc (one star). But, the floor of the room was very dirty, (not a huge deal, but I had to lay on the floor to do some exercises I have, and it was kind of gross) and the bed was very, very uncomfortable. I barely slept because of the uncomfortable bed, and the fact that there is no actual thermostat to control the ac/heater and so I constantly had to get up to adjust it from being too hot or too cold in the room. If we were to do it again, we would buy discount tickets from Liftopia (around $30 a peice) and just pay the extra $40-$50 or so to get a...
