The worst “restaurant” in town, and that’s saying something considering how low the bar can be here. I have gone multiple times and they always have some kind of problem. In a bulk order, they didn’t make the food and refused to make it, claiming they never got the order, despite it having been charged. They stop serving breakfast, which has ingredients they continue to use in other foods, exactly at 11am. This is more of a nuisance but is incredibly disappointing. Finally, on my trip today, I was told there was breakfast and someone else corrected the cashier, who I later realized knew nothing of the menu, as I handed over my card. I had to quickly think of something else so ordered chile cheese fries. I ordered them with green chile and no cheddar cheese, only the mozzarella. He assured me this was okay and charged me extra on top of the smothered fries for that green chile. He also did not provide me with a receipt, which caused even more problems. I sat down only to realize that their calling out numbers made it impossible for me to find my order. I had to leave my party and wait there, asking for the specific fries. I got my fries, covered in cheddar cheese. I returned them asking for mozzarella and was told they can’t separate the cheeses. Fine, just fix it. I get them back as chiles on top of fries. I paid for chiles, cheese, beef, and beans, but just asked for no cheese and a different chile. So they take them back and put beans on them but no ground beef. Finally I’m done and they go to void my order, but I don’t have a receipt!! Thankfully it only took them three minutes to find mine in a drawer. Never going back to this place with sub-par food, zero employee training, the WORST customer service I’ve had, and ultimately an embarrassing lunch as my excitement over chile cheese fries turned to hunger and...
Read moreA great restaurant in Los Alamos. This restaurant is located at 1903 Central Ave, Los Alamos, in the heart of downtown Los Alamos. It is close to many other shops, restaurants and a very nice park. There is free parking available in the lot behind the restaurant. The lot is small, but there is usually enough parking available as I was able to find a space every time I have visited. The inside is decorated in a traditional Mexican style. The walls are adorned with colorful murals, and the tables are covered with red and white checkered tablecloths. The chairs are large, wooden affairs that are well-worn but look good and are comfortable. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere. You order at the counter and they call your name for pick up. The menu items are traditional Mexican food that includes a variety of dishes, such as tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and fajitas. The food came out quickly and was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very pleasant. I am told that the restaurant has a full bar, which serves a variety of Mexican beers and cocktails but I did not try anything from that part of the menu. Please be aware that they have limited hours and may be closed “early” for people visiting from other cities. Please check their hours and if they are going to be open when you arrive. I definitely recommend this to my fellow travelers for a good...
Read moreLos Alamos doesn't have too much of a restaurant scene. They do however have an El Parasol, which is located directly across Ashley pond on Central Ave. I've always enjoyed the other El Parasol locations in Santa Fe. Simple Mexican classics prepared on the skillet at reasonable prices. The Los Alamos location is much the same. This restaurant features the same menu and regular fan favorites. I've always enjoyed their classic cheese burger and that's indeed what I indulged on during my most recent visit. Although the burger does not come with a side, it is reasonably sized (1/3 pound) for a mere seven dollars. The shredded lettuce onion and tomatoes are just as they should be in any burger and condiment packets are available by the soda machine. In all, I was not disappointed during my stop at this location. My burger was delicious and came out in noteworthy speed. Looking forward to returning when I make my next visit to Los Alamos. In a city where McDonalds and Sonic hold a near monopoly on the fast food scene. Keep in mind that El Parasol remains a local and great...
