Ashley Pond — Attraction in Los Alamos

Ashley Pond is a pretty great place to spend time overall. Plenty of big trees for shade, plenty of benches and picnic tables, lots of grass... And of course, Ashley Pond itself, named after Ashley Pond. Overall, the whole place is extremely pretty and scenic, with cool places to chill. It's also in a terrific location, less than a minute's walk away from such important places as the library, movie theater, several restaurants and other businesses, and (for teens) the Teen Center.

If a man named Ashley tells you this is his private swimming hole, he is wrong. Little known fact, this pond was originally formed by a meteor impact over a thousand years ago! The crater did not hold water due to a natural cave system, but the Boy's School used the site as a burial ground for their pack animals.
