Employees, too! The Willows Motel is regularly used by the State as a transitional domicile for new parolees that can't supply an address to parole to. Two points about that; One--by parolees I mean people who have served time in CA State prisons-which are now reserved for those convicted of serious and/or violent crimes, and Two--these particular parolees cannot find a single person in the entire state willing to let them stay with them--my point being that there is an unusually high concentration of convicted felons within shouting distance of a probably tempting source of easy cash. The source I am referring to is the weed shop customers (primarily) as they present marks that are almost assuredly carrying cash and will probably be easier to rob because they are slightly-to-very high. One other thing to think about;is that due to the regular presence of those just out of the Joint (pun intended) the police have a higher focus on the area and are on higher alert when in the area. Which translates to: they are more cops around and they tend to pull you over for the slightest of reasons. Advice: avoid the area if your car is a cop magnet-and whatever you do: Leave all of you less legal drugs at home!

I hope this review helps other travellers. The outside had me worried, but I didn't judge and decided to book. The room looked newly renovated. Comfortable bed, very clean and big television with DirecTV. Fridge and microwave. The hotel is right by the 5 freeway, but you don't hear the traffic with the windows closed. Good location since next too the freeway easy to get to down town/Burbank to have some fun with out the high cost of staying in Burbank. The staff was friendly and explained the rules, which was basically no smoking. The service fee if you do was only $50. I have stayed in hotels where it's at least $150. I wouldn't go much more north until you get to valencia or end of sylmar. As wants you go more north on the 5 freeway you will encounter true 3.5 and lower motels with graffiti in the rooms for the exact same price. This place seems family friendly . I myself have no children, but if I did I would much rather bring my family here then further up the road. Again, last stop before valencia. Well of course this is just my opinion. Being now in a situation were im forced to accept help from everyone. I am greatfull that god has people that still understand that. For today they will let me check in and stay the night, that way i wont be out on the streets, being that i am homeless.
