Chiguacle, Restaurant & Tortilleria — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Just left this restaurant, not much to say other than hella DISSAPOINTED. The first red flag was when we walked in to a empty restaurant. My boyfriend and I were the only people there which felt off already. Second red flag: The micheladas tasted like they were 70% tomato juice with less than half a beer added. Super upsetting and definitely a waste of money so one sip later I switched it out to a stawberry margarita, however it was watered down and definitely not worth $15 - okay. To start off, as an appetizer we had fish and shrimp ceviche with tostadas, however NO fish was served on our ceviche and it was flat. No flavoring what so ever in this first part of the meal Third red flag: Food was served out of orderly fashion. Basically I was served my food (after the appetizer) while my boyfriend was left still waiting on his. A typical restaurant service serves all the guests at one table their food at the same time. Therefore, by the time I finished my food my man's plate had STILL NOT arrived and I knew the restaurants service was not gonna get any better from here. My man ordered the pescado sarandiado and let me tell you, the fish wasn't cooked all the way through. As a cook, my man was inspecting the fish and noticed that several parts of it was not thoroughly cooked. Or even seasoned correctly as it lacked a good taste when even paired with the SAD little side of rice they gave him for this fish that was well around 2 pounds. Seriously disappointed at lack of ANYTHING in this dish The fish came with nothing but a very small side of rice, and a couple hand made tortillas(which was probably the only good tasting part of the dish) topped off with garnish. 4 slices of cucumber and 3 slices of tomato with 2 lemons. That is literally all this dish offers When we mentioned the uncooked parts of fish to the waitress, Patty, she COMPLETELY DISREGARD our concerns and claims it was definitely cooked as it was fresh off the pan. Definitely didn't answer our concerns which only further proved our point that the food was trash The dish was $40 and definitely not worth a single penny of it. As a first time visitor of this location, this is definitely the last time we go here as not a single part of this dinner...

It was my Grandson's Birthday week and we took him to another place the day before which was just awful. So we all piled in the car for the long drive to Sunland, at least for us it is a drive. They say it is in Los Angeles, but not really. No matter, we knew it would take a bit and boy was it worth it.

First of all, there is parking. The place is just so cute with lovely art, comfortable seating and great service. The food is amazing.

We got there and were seated right away. Our drink order was taken and chips were delivered. We started with guacamole and it was great. But they don't give you much so we ordered more and more. It was just that good.

We then tried their Enchiladas de Puebla, which is Chicken Tinga filled and topped with Mole Puebla served with rice and rajas Poblanas. this is not easy to find at other places. This was amazing. We also had Carne Asada Arrachera Mexicana, which is Marinated skirt steak with rajas and nopal. It was cooked perfectly. We will have that again.

Their Ceviche de Camaron y Pescado, which is Fish and cooked Shrimp ceviche is so amazing.

There is just not a bad dish to have there.

The food is amazing! The best non traditional mexican food i ever tasted! The poblano mole would def be my last meal if ever i found myself in that postion. The chile relleno is a different experience than i have had ever before. My wife had a lemon aid and asked me to try it. I usually dont like it cause it is so tart. They put chia seeds in it to remove the tart bite. And wow i was blown away! And ordered one for myself! The restruant was only open for the first 2 days! i was there for both. Im bringing all my friend and biz colleagues here just like i did when the shrimp toco stroe was open durring the remodel. The place was super clean! And the enviroment artistic in nature. The staff was very friendly, and checked on us regularly I love it! I have lived here for over 30 years as the neighborhoid watch block captian. And they always came thur to help with any event. Just as before when it was Rocios Mole! Im sooo happy the wait to reopen is over. And truely worth it! Welcome...
