Fern Valley Hotel & Conference Center — Hotel in Louisville

We only chose this hotel for the pool, we called since my sister wasn't getting there until late Saturday we called to make sure it was open and were told it was open all weekend. It wasn't so we had to make special plans with life guard to be there specifically when he came in( which was awesome of them but wouldn't have been needed if they hadn't lied in the first place) the bell hop did not help me 5 months pregnant and my 65 year old father get our bags ready and up to hotel room, everything was stained in our hotel including a big 6inch diameter crusty white spot on the rug, the "breakfast" ridiculously was 2 inch diameter tiny bagels, and mini muffins and 2 choices of cereal they ran out of cream cheese, and coffee on separate occasions, the maid left my father's room door open after she cleaned it (luckily within an hour my brother walked by(he was staying in the 4th room my family booked) and closed it before anything was stolen I'm pretty sure she also smoked in my room as we left at 10 every morning and came back at 11 every night and my room smelled of stale smoke. Every morning I left a sign for maid reminding her to give me new coffee grounds for my coffee pot and was left with none, my parents room didn't even have a coffee pot right next door, their room didn't have tissues when they got there and mine only had a 1/2 roll of TP. (And did I mention I have 2 small children and am pregnant ) went through it in 1/2 hour. My nephew almost drowned while life guard dazed into space when they finally got to swim on Sunday, my fiancée got stuck in the broken elevator for 10 min Sunday morning which made him have a severe anxiety attack and made us miss first service on Sunday morning at church this ruining our Easter dinner as we had to trust my other sisters husband to take the cheese cake and roast out and he burned them :/ we could sue for the elevator incident. But all around it was just miserable:( my family spent almost $1000 for 4 rooms at that hotel I spent $460, my sister spent close to,$120, my brother spent close to ,$300. I am very upset at it as I really didn't care about the pool since I had no intention on swimming and only wanted a nice place to sleep and have coffee and breakfast in...

We stayed at this hotel from Thursday night until Sunday morning while attending the NSRA Nationals. We had to change rooms 3 times because the AC was not working – the couple that we were traveling with had to change rooms twice. On the first morning the couple that we were with were eating the continental breakfast when one of the workers was overheard saying “We need to throw this stuff away because it has bugs in it”. Thank goodness that she was talking about muffins because they were eating cereal! The next morning we were going to eat at the breakfast area when the lady at the front desk told us that there wasn’t any breakfast because they couldn’t find the key where the food was located – no continental breakfast and no coffee. Needless to say, we drove across the street to Thornton’s gas station and picked up granola bars, doughnuts and coffee. Thornton’s is clean and the people are friendly.

We had to walk through a lot construction to get to our rooms. There was drywall dust, about 50 5 gallon cans of paint, rolled up carpet, scaffolding, etc. sitting around that we had to walk through before we could get to the elevator to get to the only rooms that they were renting out on the fourth floor. The pool had about a foot of water in it, the hot tub had no water in it and the area was taped off to prevent you from walking around. All of the restaurants were closed.

The night that we checked in the poor girl working the front desk was all alone as there were absolutely no managers around. She must have apologized at least 50 times for the mess and because we had to change rooms. We found out that she had only been working at the hotel for one week. I felt sorry for her.

Our friends also had a lot of problems. They requested a King size room, as did we, but were put in a double as that is all that was available. Their toilet kept running and flushing 24/7. After complaining to the front desk several times and requesting a maintenance man to replace the flapper valve their requests were completely ignored.

I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. You are better off sleeping in your car than staying...

DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL!!! Terrible experience. Water was turned off to Hotel during stay couldn't flush toilets or shower. Toilets were backing up in the showers. Couldn't watch T.V nothing but static, no WI-FI connection as advertised. Many unsatisfied customers during our stay, one customer actually showed me a video of their ceiling falling in during there stay and were checking out early. Another group showed up and as soon as they saw the conditions they asked for a refund and left. General Manager argued with me and talked over me while I was trying to express my concerns. We called ahead of time about the pool and was told it would be reopened the day we were arriving after renovations. We went to the pool and there was a padlock on it so we went to the desk to tell them and they had no idea what was going on there argued the pool was opened and we kept saying but we cant get in and then we were told oh sorry we didn't know that maintenance had closed the pool because of a problem then the general manager the next day argued that the pool was opened yesterday. I just have never seen or had to experience such a unprofessional manager or staff in my life. The Hotel desk clerked lied to my face when I asked to speak with the manager she said he was at the water company trying to get things straightened out and he would be back in about 30 mins, when all along he was standing at the end of the counter right beside me and he walked away and came back out and it was the same person. When we approached her about this she apologized, only because she had been caught lying. Urinal in the bathroom outside the complimentary breakfast was overflowing for hours. Ceiling were dripping and nothing to catch the water!! Also called front desk 5 times for a pillow and never got one and several times for towels with no response. Maintainence came to fix the toilet and left the room door hanging wide open while we were gone!! And to top it off when I got home and checked my credit card statement they had double billed me for two different amounts and owed me over a 1,000.00 credit. Will never stay...
