First of all, when we checked in, we found shards of metal on the floor of our room. Maintenance men came up to our room to check them out and a housekeeper came in vacuumed. No one however discuss the situation with me. I had to call several times to the front desk to get someone to speak to me about that. Not only was the metal on the floor of our room, but I stepped on him shard of it and it got lodged into my toe. Second of all, on my way to breakfast our second morning of our stay, the uneven tiling in the hallway (which my husband took a photograph of) caused me to trip which caused me to fall on the floor and injure my shoulder. I was hurt very badly and I still struggle with pain in my shoulder. Thrre was severe bruising and swelling to the muscles in my shoulder. No one from the hotel even botheres to check in on me after the fall and we stayed for another full day and night. Not a call even, nothing. An incident report was written up however, it was written up as though it was my fault I fell and not the hotels fault for having uneven tiling. Yes, they did refund one night of my stay however they wrote it up as they refunded it as some sort of compensation for my fall, when I was actually told it was supposed to be compensation for the metal that was in my room. And the wording of how the incident report was written up was incredibly offensive as well. It's written that I refused for them to write an incident report which is not true. The only thing I refused was for them to call an ambulance because I was way out of my coverage area and I did not want to pay a ridiculous amount of money because of their negligence of not having a safe walking surface for guests to walk through. Also they have it quoted as someone heard me saying that I wasn't hurt, which I never said because from the moment I fell I couldn't even feel my arm. I never would have said that I was not hurt, anyone around for the incident could have clearly seen that I was in agony. I may have stated that I have a physical handicap that has in the past caused me to fall, but that was not the cause of this fall. As I stated before my husband has a photograph of the even tiling, where it sticks up and isn't flat, which is what caused my foot to catch and what tripped me to fall. (Initially my husband believed it was a crack between the tiling and the carpeting that caused the fall but it was in fact the uneven tiling tgat tripped me.) And on top of all that, adding insult to injury, The hotel had an insurance person call me to "discuss" the incident. All she did was be ignorant to me on the phone, right from the start of the conversation to when she hung up on me. Claiming she watched a video of the fall and there was no way i fell how I claimed, but it was my foot and i was the one who fell. I have never been treated so badly in my life, and i was the injured party. Additionally in my reservation request I have it noted that I have a physical handicap and I needed to be as close to the amenities as possible to limit the amount of walking that would be required of me, and yet somehow I ended up on the clear other end of the hotel hallway from all of the amenities in this hotel. This made going to the continental breakfast a struggle and even using the pool facilities was incredibly difficult, due to the distance we were placed from these amenities. My final complaint is the fact that we picked this hotel for their hot tub and pool facility, called before we came down to make sure that they actually had the hot tub and pool facility, and then one whole day of our trip they had the pool facility closed to guests. This was one of the worst stays I have ever had in a hotel and I will never be back...
Read moreMy wife and I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Williamsport PA- Faxon Exit
The Hotel itself is very nice and the staff are very pleasant.
The issue that I have with this Hotel is the ability to FIND it.
On the web site and the reservation confirmation that you are given the address is listed as:
66 Liberty Lane Williamsport, Pennsylvania
The problem is that this is a vanity address and it does not really exist. The real address for the Hotel is:
1700 East 3rd Street Williamsport, Pennsylvania
For those who use devices like cell phones and GPS systems this issue becomes magnified because the address of 66 Liberty Lane kind of exists in other locations NO WHERE near the hotel. Because of this we were led on a wild goose chase looking for the hotel. It took my wife and I an additional hour and a half to find the hotel after what had already a long drive. Fortunately there are two Hampton Inns in Williamsport that are about a mile apart. I went to this other Hampton Inn to inquire were I might find my hotel.
Curiously or fortunately this Hampton Inn has a pre-printed set of instructions along with the REAL address of the hotel ready for all the others who have encountered the same issue.
After arriving at the correct Hotel I inquired at the front desk as to why they publish a bad address. It was obvious that this is a common problem for many people. The explanation was that the corporate office would not allow them to change the address on the website or reservation confirmation.
In hindsight I guess calling the hotel would have been the smart thing to do however I guess I was trusting that the proprietor of the Hotel would have the correct address published so that customers...
Read moreI agree with most of the reviews that were posted, the hotel was clean, the rooms were nice, the facilities were clean. However, my experience was a little different.
We stayed on the fifth floor and below us on the ground level, was a large loud party on the outdoor patio. The noise was so loud that around midnight we called to complain. The desk told us they would take care of it. They did not, the party noise got louder. I was able to figure out how to get the air conditioner fan to blow constantly so that we could drown out the noise so we we could get to sleep. No big deal right? In the morning we made a comment to the staff and they said, "Yeah it went on until 4am and we received multiple complaints about it all evening!" Why didn't the staff do anything about it? Did it not bother them they were upsetting the majority of their guests?
Our friends had booked rooms and were expecting to have two queen beds in each room but the hotel had overbooked and gave away their rooms to others that checked in first and left them with a king bed and a pull out sofa bed. 2nd strike and therefore a 3 star review.
The surrounding area had multiple places to eat at, even two restaurants in the same parking lot as the hotel. Besides the noise and mostly the lack of enthusiasm by the staff to squash the party and then their who-cares attitude in the morning it was a nice place to stay. Hopefully someone reads this and gets their employees back on track as it had everything else...
