Friday night check-in was okay but we were disappointed when we were told we were unfortunately on the 2nd floor. We later came to find out there was hardly anyone at the hotel and many empty 1st floor rooms. The rest of our travel team was all in one area while we were placed on the opposite side. When we got to our room there was a pile of dirt behind the door, the smoke detector was off the wall with no batteries, and there was human hair on the toilet seat and around the back. It didn’t look like it had been cleaned recently. We were supposed to have a mini fridge and microwave but did not. The door was extremely hard to get open with the swipe cards. I did request a new room. The new room was much cleaner but there was still dirt in the closet. I guess they just sweep it to one corner and let it lay. We had issues with the door swipe as well and had to get the cards reset twice one night. Our friends door didn't even lock upon exit. She could only lock it from the security latch and dead bolt from inside. Our check out was 11am Sunday morning but they canceled the swipe cards sometime before 9am on Sunday which led to me having to get the card reset yet again so I could get in to get the rest of our personal items. At no point when we would go to the desk would that ask for identification for the card key reset, they would simply ask which room. I could have gotten into any room. To top it off, there was a large family using the pool that was not staying at the hotel. It is a very small pool and they were pushing off one side to the other which made it mostly impossible to stay above the water. There were small children in the pool and there was no accountability from the mother. When the father came back he did make them get out. The manager did move breakfast up on Saturday morning to 6 am so our girls could eat before heading to the field. Sunday morning some of the team tried to check out. No one was at the desk and no one answered the 1800 number as directed on the small plasma screen on...
Read moreFor the most part, my stay was decent. Everything was..........average. The staff was nice and the room clean. There were a few annoyances that I have to mention. ||First, the internet speed was LAME, especially compared to other hotels I've stayed at in the class and price range. But, it served it's most basic function. ||Second, the water pressure in the shower bordered on a sprinkle (okay, maybe not THAT bad, but still pretty weak). I haven't experienced weak water pressure in hotel in a very long time. ||Third, I can't stand small, kiddie size pillows. I managed to get comfortable, but it took awhile. ||Lastly, the housekeeping. I get that housekeeping is a necessary, but mostly thankless job, and I do appreciate the work they do. I understand that this property is designed like a motel with room doors opening to the outside; so when cleaning rooms, housekeepers probably don't want to leave the doors open and risk insects and other pests making their way into the room. BUT, allowing the room door to constantly bang against the door jam and have that sound vibrate along the building could be VERY annoying to anyone if they planned to sleep-in. Thankfully, I wake early in the morning, but it was still jarring to constanly here this banging. ||With all that being said, given that there are a bunch of hotels in the area, I'll probably try another property next time. But, I did get a good price at $89...
Read morePositives: the beds were very comfortable and appeared clean, the room is a nice size, and the hotel breakfast room is spacious and had a variety of cereals, good pastries, coffees, teas/hot chocolate, apple and orange juices, fresh apples, scrambled eggs and sausage, so a good variety of breakfast foods. The hotel staff was welcoming and accommodating. There is an outdoor pool, which was being enjoyed by several families. Nice flat-screen TV. Negatives: our room seemed to have been cleaned, but when we arrived, after 7 PM, the beds were stripped and had not been remade, the bathroom had no toilet paper and there was no wastebasket. The room had no phone and no number to call the front desk, and it is quite a large hotel. I went to the front desk about the beds, and that was taken care of quickly and easily. That being said, everywhere I've gone this Summer, this is the same type of story with every place. Fast food places often don't have the food items advertised. Quality of food and other items has gone downhill. Hotels are sometimes in a bad state of repair. This hotel looked freshly painted. Nothing was broken that I could see, and the beds were comfortable and appeared clean. The TV worked, although the remote had seen better days. It was okay. We stayed 2 nights, the price was good, I'd stay again. Location was good, and the hotel is attached to a TGI Fridays, with other restaurants...
