Was attending an event in Madison. I booked the room two months in advance. I am a rewards member and started the process of getting a digital room key. I selected my room on the 4th floor, away from ice machines and elevators to ensure a less noisy room. The app advised me the digital key would be sent when the room was ready. Lo and behold, I received a message that I could not use the digital key and had to present my ID upon check in. Never had this issue before. BY the time I was able to check in after my event, I was given another room. When I asked why I didn't get the room I requested, I was just told there was a maintenance issue. Let it be known, there was literally one single spot left in the motel parking lot when I arrived. So I was given a room on the bottom floor right next to both the elevators that ran all night long, and the outside door that was opened and slammed all night as well. I got ZERO sleep for a room that I was charged $422. Four times the normal room rate (because of the event in town). If it was notated when the room was vacated from the last guest that there was an issue with the room, I should have been moved to a comparable location within the hotel - not the last-to-be-rented room in the worst location of the facility. I believe my room was given away to someone else that arrived before I did, blocking my room key pass and kicking out my reservation. In fact, no virtual key was sent to me until I went to the front desk upon my arrival. There were no apologies for the disruption, and it was take it or leave it from the front desk. My stay was miserable due to the noise and commotion all night, and for me, having rewards account and virtual check in and digital key is meaningless if your room requests are not honored and you are not notifed at any point between the 3 pm check in start time of the reservation and 9 hours later when I finally was able to arrive...
Read moreThis may be the worst Hampton Inn we have ever stayed at. We booked a king room and we got a small bizarrely laid-out, dark dingy room towards the end of the hall. We felt so light deprived. It was quite depressing. The bathroom fan didn't work. There was a small broken refrigerator (door to the cabinet with the fridge was off the hinges), no microwave and a small coffee maker behind the bathroom door in a very small nook. You can only make coffee in the bathroom with the bathroom door closed. ||The Bathroom did not have a bathtube, a shower, with doors that did not slide easily||||We looked into a few other rooms that house keeping was cleaning and the other rooms looked more normal in size and more well lit. After the fact we realized we should have complained immediately about our room. We went out to dinner one night came back and our room keys no longer worked (infact they would no work to even get into the hotel through the back entrance). It took 20 minutes for the hotel personnel to restore access to our rooms , no apology. When we checked out and told the staff about our experience, all they said was ,"have a nice day". No apology or attempt to show sympathy. It really was the worse Hampton Inn we have ever experienced. We definitely felt like we did not get our moneys worth. Plenty of other places to stay near by, next time we are in town to see our daughter we will fore sure find another place. Very dissatisfied!!!||||We stayed 3 nights, in hindsight we should have demanded a newroom...
Read moreI traveled and stayed at this hotel for 15 days beginning in February 2024 and ending in March 2024 for work. The hotel is typical Hampton Inn and Suites, with free expanded breakfast and good coffee. The staff themselves were very responsive on switching payment for the hotel to my company's card and Justin, the manager, was very on point. The other staff were also very good and I interacted with about 4 other staff members while staying there, each interaction very professional. ||The room themselves is the only issue here. The TV's aren't smart TV's (it's 2024, come on people) so you are kinda stuck watching whatever is on live TV. The beds are ok, but not extremely comfortable. The bathroom was just ok but I've seen much better/improved bathrooms at other Hampton Inns that I had stayed at. There is a refrigerator in rooms but no microwaves. They do have a microwave downstairs in their food pantry next to lobby/front desk where you can purchase food and/or use the microwave. However, who wants to go downstairs to the lobby to microwave food?||Also, please note there is a building next door called the Princeton Club, it's a gym, but their letters on their building are bright red and huge. If you have a room on the top floor, the 5th floor, and you stay in room 503 their sign shines in the room at night and the curtains won't block it. So you have this neon red sign outside your window all night. ||Please note their indoor pool and hot tub is very nice and...
