I emailed the manager of the hotel and he never responded, which was to be expected considering the service level of the hotel. So I'm posting my review here so no one else makes the same mistake. I checked in on Saturday with no issues. When I went to my room an elevator was out of order so everyone got in the one working elevator...no big deal. Got off the elevator and was hit by the air from a carpet dryer in the hallway outside my room. The carpet dryer was there all weekend. Not exactly a 5 star experience, but again no big deal. Let's just have a good weekend.
That night my lady friend and I decided to have dinner at Polpo. The restaurant is far too brightly lit with cool white LEDs. It felt like a hospital inside, not a cozy Italian restaurant. We were seated next to the bar and the bar was full of a loud drunk wedding or bachelorette party which was basically on top of our table. I asked the waiter to dim the lights and nothing happened for ten minutes, I then asked the manager to dim the lights and he said he would try and then proceeded to straighten chairs at the bar for another 10 minutes before attempting to dim the lights, which he said he was unable to on his ipad.
I ordered a casamigos reposado and soda and the bar was out of casamigos reposado, I actually checked ahead to make sure your resort serves casamigos reposado. I ordered the spaghetti and specifically asked for no additional garlic chunks. This was either not communicated to the kitchen or the kitchen ignored the request and the dish arrived with full garlic chunks. My friend was forced with the uncomfortable decision to eat alone or let her seafood pasta go cold while waiting for the kitchen to remake mine. The waiter apologized but this mistake was never acknowledged by the manager. This entire dining experience killed the mood for the entire rest of the trip. Also, side note, there are virtually no (or poor) vegan options at most of the restaurants at the resort.
After dinner we decided to go for a jacuzzi at around 9pm and were told that we weren't allowed to be there. We were not making any noise. Why can two adults not have a relaxing evening jacuzzi at 9pm at a 5 star resort?
Also, not sure why there were super soaker water guns against the glass in the Men's spa but thought that was weird. The spa also doesn't have a pool or cold plunge, just a giant puddle, which is weird.
We had planned on eating at Angle on Sunday night but ended up leaving the resort for dinner on Sunday night.
We were woken Sunday morning at 6:30 am to the Disney channel blasting on the TV and kids screaming and dribbling a basketball in the room next to us. Apparently we were put in a room facing the family pool next to a room with several (sounded like 3 or 4) children in it. I called the front desk to ask for something to be done but the dribbling basketball but it resumed all morning until at least 11am when we decided to leave the room so clearly nothing was done about the dribbling. So much for sleeping in on a Sunday. The in-room dining was actually the only good meal we had at the resort.
The walls were so thin and uninsulated that I could hear every word spoken by the kids next door. We could also hear the kids peeing and flushing the toilet. The exact same thing happened Monday morning (6:30am Disney channel, kids screaming, basketball dribbling) so we ultimately decided we needed to forego our final day and night at the resort, and we simply left. I've never just left a hotel a day before check out. It was that bad.
The hotel's homepage depicts mostly couples and adults, but this feels like a family resort and not a 5-star resort. Vacation time wasted. Money wasted. Bad...
Read moreI’ve visited the Spa many times at Eau, and have always had a wonderful experience! We recently stayed for the night for a little Staycation and was unfortunately disappointed! Service in general was just ok, many times Valet & greeters at the entrance did not offer to open the door (or a couple times as we exited, literally let it shut in front of us after walking out before us!) and each time I had to ask if I could grab a water and then had to help myself, it was never offered. When we got in the room, I thought we had paid/choose a room that looked directly out over the ocean, so I called to see if maybe there was a mistake. I guess I misunderstood, but there should be a better description of Ocean “View” vs. Ocean “Front”. Which in hindsight, seems obvious, but ocean front was not an option when I booked, so I just assumed ocean view was the room facing the ocean directly. There was also someone else’s drinks left in the mini fridge which felt icky. (I know these are minor things, but for such a prestigious hotel these little things should be on point).
We had dinner at Polpo and it was such a weird experience! Service and food were actually terrible. For my husband to say a drink, his dinner AND dessert were bad, is saying something! My friend told our server her drink was not good either (my husband felt bad and didn’t want to say anything), and I kid you not - she asked for a Tequila with soda water and pineapple in replacement for what she initially ordered, and with disgust the server brought her a rocks glass with tequila, a small cup of soda water and another small cup with pineapple to “make it herself.” We were floored! Everything we ordered, looked like it was either premade or had been sitting under a heat lamp, when I asked if mine could be put over pasta (which to me is a basic request for something like Chicken Piccata) the server said I could only have a side, when I asked what type of pastas they had, he told me I needed to look under the pasta dishes and those are they types they had - which when I confirmed spaghetti was fine, he said “yes, just a side, spaghetti with just water right? No sauce.” Just so odd! That cannot be a very rare request, right? Anyway, most of the dinner proceeded like this, and when we ordered desert, I just wanted simple, chocolate ice cream that they couldn’t mess up. We were celebrating my belated birthday, so the thought was nice that the server brought out chocolate cake for me, but he never brought out my ice cream which is what I actually wanted? I don’t really care for chocolate cake, so I took a bite to be polite and we all were just kinda like - let’s get desert somewhere else, this has just been a bad experience! When he brings the check out, he goes out of his way to say “the cake is on us” like he was doing some sort of favor which is typically customary for birthdays at nice restaurants?
I truly hate to complain or write negative reviews, but it was all just disappointing. So for $1,000+ for one night and one dinner for 4, we just...
Read moreMy recent visit to this spa was nothing short of a disappointing and frustrating experience. From the moment I walked in the front desk lady was extremely rude. first red flag. I was excited to relax and have an amazing day at the spa. I bought two expensive packages for a total of $1,500. They included, facial, massage, mani and pedi and a blow dry. Given that is is Palm Beach, I thought it was going to be an amazing experience WRONG. The entire experience was an actual nightmare. I can honestly say I am traumatized after that spa experience. And never want to return to that facility ever again.
To begin, the ENTIRE staff was rude. And unwelcoming. Starting from the front desk. The aesthecian who did my facial was the absolute worse! She insulted me from the very beginning telling me my skin was ugly and dry. To add insult to injury, she kept making inappropriate and judgmental comments about my appearance. She told me that my skin should be "perfect" for my age, which felt like a backhanded compliment filled with judgment and envy. As a young and confident individual, I felt discriminated against, which is utterly unacceptable in any professional setting. The massage session was meant to be a relaxing escape, but it turned into an awkward and intrusive encounter. The masseuse bombarded me with way too many personal questions, which made me feel uncomfortable and uneasy throughout the entire session. Instead of providing a serene environment, I was left feeling like I was being interrogated during what was supposed to be a peaceful moment of self-care.
The nail technician's incompetence added further disappointment to my spa day. Not only did they misshape my nails, but the polish job was incredibly sloppy, with uneven coverage and visible streaks. It was clear that the technician lacked attention to detail and skill, leaving my nails looking worse than before I walked into the spa.
Feeling frustrated and upset, I approached the management to address these issues. However, instead of finding understanding or empathy, they were unapologetic and dismissive of my concerns. They offered no solutions or attempts to rectify the situation, leaving me feeling unheard and undervalued as a customer.
Overall, my experience at this spa was far from the relaxation and rejuvenation I had hoped for. The overcharging, intrusive masseuse, and uncomfortable facial experience, combined with the unsupportive management, make me reluctant to ever return or recommend this establishment to anyone. It is disheartening to encounter such a lack of professionalism and customer care in what is supposed to be a place of wellness and serenity.
I honestly feel like I wasted my money. If you are thinking about coming here for a spa day, DONT. There are so many other spas where you will be treated with dignity and respect and not...
