FINAL UPDATE (7/21): After multiple calls and a year of service appointments, I spoke with a corporate rep and asked for either a partial refund or a full warranty extension. What I was offered instead was a limited policy: any parts that were already replaced (like the pump, air chamber, cover, etc.) will now be covered for one more year..... not the full bed.
I appreciated the apology and the call, but I’m still disappointed that a $6,685 bed only gets meaningful support if something breaks within the first year. Our bed is now working, and we do sleep well on it, but after needing this many repairs in 12 months, I expected Sleep Number to stand behind their premium product more than this.
I used to recommend Sleep Number to everyone based on my first experience years ago. Sadly, I can’t do that anymore. My next premium bed purchase will be with a different brand.
THIRD UPDATE: (7/18) I received a follow-up call from Sleep Number, and the representative apologized and asked what could be done to make things right. I expressed my frustration with the repeated issues and requested either a partial refund or a 2–3 year full warranty extension. She said she would escalate my request to senior leadership and promised to get back to me early next week.
I appreciate the follow-up and the apology — I’m hoping Sleep Number will make this right. I’ll continue to update this review as things progress.
SECOND UPDATE (7/17): I received a call from someone on Sleep Number’s executive team. While I appreciated the outreach, the outcome was disappointing. They’re mailing me a replacement pump for the Responsive Air issue and expect me to install it myself. No apology, no offer of refund or compensation, and no acknowledgment of the stress and inconvenience this year-long ordeal has caused.
I was also told my full warranty ends next month and that service calls and parts will soon be out-of-pocket. After spending nearly $7,000, this feels incredibly unfair. I’ve made every effort to resolve this privately and professionally. At this point, I feel dismissed and ignored.
UPDATE: I received a generic reply asking me to call customer service — I’ve already called multiple times and submitted a BBB complaint with no lasting resolution. I'm still waiting to hear from someone who can actually fix this.
Disappointed and Exhausted – $6,685 Bed, 6+ Repairs, No Resolution
I purchased a Sleep Number I8 with Split Top King adjustable base from this location in August 2024, spending $6,685.94 after being a loyal customer for 15 years. Our first Sleep Number bed lasted over 15 years without a single issue, so we trusted the brand. Unfortunately, this new one has been a constant nightmare.
In less than 12 months:
The mattress cover zipper completely tore and was replaced
The air chamber on my side was lopsided — replaced
The foam was uneven — replaced
The Responsive Air feature on my wife’s side stopped working — still unresolved
Six technician visits so far, with a seventh scheduled
I work rotating shifts and have had to sacrifice sleep over and over to accommodate these service calls. The bed that was supposed to improve my sleep has done the opposite.
I filed a formal BBB complaint hoping for a partial refund or compensation of any kind, but Sleep Number has yet to respond at all — not through the BBB, not by email, not even after multiple follow-ups.
I’ve never filed a complaint like this before, but the combination of high cost, ongoing issues, and total lack of customer response has left me incredibly frustrated.
At this point, I cannot recommend Sleep Number to anyone. I genuinely regret...
Read moreOur first install on our QI8 was botched as the bed was defective and we had to wait ANOTHER 2 WKS.The 2nd delivery was very rushed. They had no cart to get the bed into the building. Thankfully we had one. Otherwise these 2 men would have had to HAND CARRY my $6500 bed up the elevator to the 6th floor. That was not the professionalism we expected. OUR 3RD AND BIGGEST COMPLAINT is they won't cancel the furniture delivery. We found that the bed is not as expected and wanted to get the King instead. I called to cancel the Q Bed furniture expected next week as it obviously is too small. BUT NO! The CSR expects us to keep the furniture because the sale is final? How can it be a final sale if we do not have possession of the furniture? And why did the store sell us the Q Bed furniture for $2100 before we are certain that the bed is what we want? Currently we are being stalled while they pass the buck on who is responsible for the charges on the unneeded furniture. I will probably have to open a dispute with my credit card company. I urge you to wait a beat before you use this company...
Read moreI recently purchased a mattress from the Sleep Number store, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, but it was the salesman, Dave, who truly made the difference.
Dave was incredibly knowledgeable about all the products and took the time to understand my specific needs and preferences. He patiently explained the features of each mattress, ensuring I found the perfect fit for my sleep style. His friendly demeanor and genuine interest in helping me made the entire process enjoyable and stress-free. What stood out the most was Dave’s dedication to customer satisfaction. He didn’t rush us or push for a quick sale; instead, he encouraged us to take our time and even try out different options multiple times. His expertise and personalized approach made me feel confident in my purchase.
Thanks to Dave and the excellent service at the Sleep Number store, I am now ready to enjoy the best sleep I’ve had in years. I highly recommend this store to anyone in search of a new mattress. You won’t be...
