Jared Jewelers — Local services in Manheim Township

I have been into Jared multiple times (at least 4 times) now over the last week. Several different things to mention. First off, Michelee is the one you want and is worth every ounce of time you can get with her. In the last four days I have bought four different pieces from Jared through Michelee. Originally I went into Jared on Sunday looking for wedding rings for my soon to be husband and myself, and were shown the Pnina Tornai Black Diamond 14K white gold wedding bands by a male sales rep (his name escapes me), we fell in love with them and went looking at other stores and kept coming back to that ring but didn’t want to spend all the money for them up front. I went back again on Monday night to show my mom to see what her thoughts were and we were shown the ring again and this time Michelee joins the picture, she has the patience of a saint and took the time to explain the financing options that Jared offers which were not explained by the original sales person we spoke to. I was concerned about the amount of diamonds in the ring and wanted to know about what other coverages they have to offer to protect our rings and she again took the time to explain everything and during that time my mom fell in love with another ring. She gave me all of the paperwork to think it over after my second day at Jared. That night I decided to pull the trigger and proceed with their financing options which were same as cash when paid within 17 months. I called Wednesday and spoke with Natalie and said to get everything ready since Michelee wasn’t working that day and that I’d be in at 5:30 pm to sign everything and head out as I had a prior engagement. Natalie had everything together and ordered the two engagement rings for me, and then following that bought another ring which was the one my mom fell in love with and I left with all of the paperwork. I work with contracts all day and started reading the paperwork Thursday night all excited to go pick my rings up on Friday for the official proposal and found the paperwork given to me specifically stated that diamonds were not covered. I started to freak out because I made it very clear how important it was to me to make sure the stones were covered to Michelee. When I got the call Friday from Michelee that they were ready to pick up I explained that I have documentation from Natalie after ordering my rings that negates what Michelee explained that covers the 160+ diamonds in the two rings I ordered. She advised me that’s a misunderstanding and explained again that it’s a different policy as one covers the diamonds and that the other pretty much covers the metal and when I come in she would provide me all the documentation and show me to finalize the purchase. Michelee made it all right, calmed my already busted nerves about the official proposal that was happening that evening, and I was right as rain. Saturday, we go into Jared to see Michelee again and wanted to wait specifically for her as I had made that connection and greatly appreciate her ability understand my OCD. She came over got my partners ring sized up and we are set to pick them up very soon. After that I made the comment to borrow her for some more time because I was interested in some watches. Onto purchase number four from an expensive store (lol) she listened to me, got an understanding for my style in watches that I love, I was interested in a Movado originally and she took the time to really understand what I was looking for (if you couldn’t tell I’m picky) as I don’t make large purchases often for myself, I ended up falling in love with a Bulova watch that she was able to pick out of the case by taking the time to understand what my tastes and wants are. As long as Michelee is there I will come back every year to purchase and grow my watch collection because she takes the time to understand what you are looking for. My fiancé did a custom designed engagement ring through Jared. The ring initially looked like what I had wanted and was happy with how it turned out. A month later the center diamond started spinning... I took it to them and they at first tightened it and suggested I don't wear it as often and sent me on my way. No surprise about a month later the diamond was spinning yet again. They then elongated the prongs which again did not work and it started spinning a third time. They were not very apologetic about the entire situation and sometimes would make jokes as if this wasn't an extremely frustrating process for me. I was known by all the staff there because of how often I had to be there and they would say to me "back again" as if this was a joking matter. Eventually after months of going back and fourth there they ended up having to completely put a new head on the ring- which was not what I had originally envisioned but I basically had no choice. I never was truly given an answer of why this was occurring and they should not have a custom design process if the rings aren't able to be made properly. I almost had to get a completely different ring because they couldn't find a solution to the problem and kept putting band aids on it. I would not suggest doing their custom designed ring process. Thankful that we got a warranty and everything was fully covered but they also had made comments that the band couldn't ever be replaced because it was made elsewhere. I think with the amount of money we spent they should have found a solution to the problem regardless of what it entailed. They were not sincere or apologetic and I had to deal with a new person each time I went there. Editing a year later: Changed my 1 star review to a 3 star review. In the end the store manager Natalie did reach out to me and they had a new jeweler that was able to fix my ring back to the original design I had wanted and it has held up for almost a year now. I appreciated them following through and were determined to get my ring back to what I had originally wanted. The process was less than ideal but the overall product is what I wanted. My husband and I came in beginning of August and were interested in buying jewelry for me, we tried on 2 pieces and got prices on them and others, he would have purchased that day but salesman’s said they are having a sale and those pieces and more would be on sale Sept 16th so we made an appointment to come back today at 1, ive been so excited about this date for week, got dressed up we both took off work was supposed to be a positive experience and fun. We get there and they said the sale on the peices we looked at ended yesterday. We had no idea they were even on sale we were told to come in today and had voicemails reminders and emails for today at 1. He said he would ask his manager if he could still give us 25% off and he came back and said no he can’t honor it. So we left and then he called and said that he now was able to ask his manager that he didn’t prior and lied to us and now his manager said he can give the 25% off. I don’t understand how someone could treat someone like this? My husband was planning on getting me a nice ring and possible necklace and then in addition, he’s looking for an updated wedding ring for me, we’ve been visiting all the local jewelry stores over the past 2 months and liked the selection at Jared the most And thought we found our place, even if he didn’t know those pieces wouldn’t be on sale then wouldn’t he have let us know they came on sale and were on sale? Now that we look back it’s like there was no special sale, when he told us about this sale Event he mentioned reps from LeVian being there and it was this invitation only and needed to make an appointment. It looked like nothung was going on in the store. No indication of anything. And when asked what pieces then were part of the sale he was like oh random pieces.
