It saddens me that I have to write this review. I have been going to Park city diner for many years and being that I have a background in the food industry, this was one of my favorite spots I used to go to, later after work. Unfortunately, the last few years, the food has gotten horrible. The service has gotten horrible just everything in general has gotten horrible and it’s not just late at night, but even on some mornings. I know it gets busy at times but tonight, me and my family went out for a late dinner. My fiancé had ordered the chicken croquettes my stepson ordered a Mickey Mouse pancakes with chocolate chips, which he never received his chocolate chips. Some might think that’s minor, but to a kid, it’s important because they look forward to those little things. Myself, I ordered the boneless Caribbean barbecue wings and they were dry; barely any sauce on them whatsoever. I had asked the server for several sides of sauces; a ranch, a barbecue and blue cheese, which I received none of, and I had to ask her twice to remind her to bring them. On top of that neither one of us got any refills. After we had asked for the bill and some boxes, she came back with boxes and brought us the wrong check. Not sure what was going on with our waitress - it wasn’t very busy there this evening, but yet again, it saddens me I have to write this review. I spent 18 years in the restaurant industry and never seen such horrible staffing and horrible leadership, and seeing some of the reviews that other people have written, I start to wonder if the owners even care about their establishment and the quality of food that they put out to customers I know from both sides of the counter that when somebody gets off of working late at night or even just want to go out for a decent meal, the only thing they really want is good service and good food. And again, from the other side of the counter, I know being in the restaurant business can be very demanding and stressful but as they say, if you can’t handle the heat in the kitchen, then get out. When customers come out and they spend their hard earned money. They don’t care if you’re having a bad day or not. The only thing they want and deserve is to be treated like decent human beings and get the service that comes...
Read moreWe have enjoyed Park City Diner probably since they opened. The food is always plentiful and incredibly good. Occasionally we may get a server who could be a little more attentive or show better customer service skills, but that's pretty common at most any eating establishment anymore. Still won't kreus from coming back.
Main purpose of this review is our absolute appreciation and admiration for Alex, probably your vest server by far. We sort of knew him when he was bussing tables at Lyndon Diner (sorry for mentioning the competition!), but his politeness, attentiveness to detail with any of our orders, constantly (without being a pest) asking how are food was and if we're okays far and just being a heck of a nice guy puts him over the top as far as customer service goes. As far aswe are concerned, Alex is the jewel in the eye of Park City Diner and a testament to what a good server should be.
EDIT: For the first time since we've been coming, I have a bit of a complaint.
We stopped for breakfast yesterday (3/1). It was a bit busy, more than expected for a Saturday. I walked in to the front counter and the two hosts and the cashier were just talking away and it was a minute before I got their attention to put my name on the wait list.
Ordered my favorite: Cream Chipped Beef Casserole, scrambled and tater tots, no toast.
Food served, server disappears.
I got the right casserole, but it was made with home fries, not tots. Silly, I know, they're both potatoes. And there were two slices of wheat toast.
I thought it might have been a kitchen error, seeing how busy it was. Then I got the check. It clearly shows she entered home fries and the toast, against my wishes. I wasn't going to say anything because the guys at the counter just didn't...
Read moreJust had dinner here for the first time and it will absolutely be my last. We walked in the door and were not greeted at all even though 4 employees stood at the front desk talking to each other. A lady came out from the back and looked at us, grabbed menus and just started walking away from us, we assumed she meant to follow her so we did and she flopped our menus on the table and walked away without a word. We sat down and another lady came over and was very short with us asking what we wanted to drink. Then we sat and waited for a long time before she came back to take our order and was very short again and just walked off. Our appetizer came out very quickly but $7 for 5 puny little mozzarella sticks is a joke. The wait for our meals was so long and when they showed up they looked extremely unappealing. My boyfriend's steak was very overcooked and super dry, my mashed potatoes were like eating drywall putty, my salad was brown and slimy and the lobster soup was absolutely disgusting. We were never checked on during our meals only asked quickly "you good?" while she walk by, never offered more drink and our table wasn't cleared until we were getting up to leave. Speaking of, when our table was being cleared food was dropped on my boyfriend's leg and not a word was said from the lady. Also the unfriendliness, drama and chaos of the staff around us was insane. We witness another waitress being extremely rude to an elderly couple beside us, a waitress cussing at another employee about another staff member and an employee just standing around with headphones in his ears. $53 for all that? I'm appalled that they are able to run a business like that and would love my money and time...
