Extremely Disappointed with the Service and Staff Behavior

On April 10, 2025, my son and his friend visited Islands Chicken on Marco Island, Florida, and unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. They placed an order for two full meals and were instead charged for and served kids’ meals. It felt as though the staff took advantage of the fact that they were young and treated the situation as a joke.

The individual who took their order acted as if he didn’t understand what was being said, and ultimately did not deliver what was clearly communicated. What’s most concerning is not just the mix-up in the order, but the lack of professionalism, care, and respect shown by the staff.

As a parent, it’s extremely frustrating to see young customers not taken seriously and potentially manipulated out of their money. My son and his friend came home confused and disappointed, having been clear about their order but ignored or dismissed by the employee.

This kind of customer service is unacceptable, and I strongly urge the owner or management to invest in better training, hire staff who understand the importance of clear communication, and treat all customers—regardless of age—with respect.

Until serious changes are made, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Experiences like this damage the reputation of the business and make customers...

Do not trust the reviews. I'm so bummed that I gave my money to this place. Our daughter loves Canes so we were excited to try a small, local restaurant that offered similar food. This place has nothing on Canes which is sad because it is fast food joint.

We didn't know it was basically just take out, which is cool, because nobody was there (I now know why) so we sat at the one small table they have. Our order took a weirdly long time for just fried food, but considering that the only two employees are two very young (so young it didn't seem legal) teenage boys, I guess it makes sense. This place is in desperate need of adult supervision.

They delivered our food and didn't bring the drinks or the ranch (the ranch is the cheapest kind Sysco offers) for the wings and then went and hid in the back. We had to open the front door for the bell to get their attention. The buffalo wings were also barely sauced and dry so we asked for more sauce and when we did the kid cooking asked us "Why?" - Why!? You know why, dude. The chicken was also soggy with no crisp and the tea and lemonade both tasted like water. The fries were...

I ordered online and drove 11 minutes to get there. Got there as they were finishing boxing my order.

If you are familiar with Raising Cane's or Zaxby's, the menu will be very familiar.

1. Chicken fingers are very moist, large (compared the the two mentioned chains) and crispy.
2. Fries are well seasoned and crinkly.
3. Texas toast was honestly my favorite part, typically bread is just bread but this buttery perfection took me by surprise.
4. I found the island sauce to be most similar to Zax sauce but it's not fair to compare. Island sauce is perfectly designed to pair with Island Chicken's menu.
5. A 4 piece box was enough to fill a 250-pound starving tourist.
