🌟 Hidden Gem on Marco Island! 🌟

My husband and I have been visiting Marco Island for over 30 years, and our recent experience at the Italian Deli and Market was nothing short of magical. 🍕

I stumbled upon this cozy spot during a Monday night pizza and karaoke session last time I was in town and wanted my husband to experience it too. Let me tell you—the pizza? Incredible! As a Chicago native, my husband is a pizza connoisseur, and even he was impressed. 🍕😄

But it wasn't just the pizza and the pasta that won us over. The staff—especially our awesome bartender, Tammy—made the atmosphere truly inviting. Tammy's friendly conversation and top-notch bartending skills elevated our evening. 🥂

Now, here's the twist: We make our own pizza at home, and our annual sauce-canning tradition (yes, we call it "gravy" too!) keeps our Italian cravings satisfied. But the pasta bolognese and Artichoke pizza at the Italian Deli? Delicious! My husband even admitted I was right—a rare occurrence! 😆

And then we met Chef Joe, who used to live in our old Chicago neighborhood. Joe shared his latest creation with us: a crispy rice ball with fluffy chocolate. Trust me, it's a taste sensation! 🍫

In a world where businesses struggle, the Italian Deli and Market stands out. Their homemade food, warm atmosphere, and personal touch make it a true gem. Keep doing what you're doing, and thank you for creating new memories...

Our 12yo LOVES their pizza -- and he's an authority on good pizza. But what the adults love are their deli products! My mom (the old Italian lady) purchased three different salads for Christmas Eve dinner: a seafood salad, a calamari salad, and a squingilli salad. All three were spectacular! No, really, I mean spectacular -- each salad was jam-packed with seafood (calamari, squingilli, etc.), and the non-seafoody bits were incredibly tasty, were perfectly matched to each seafood type, and really added to the salads. I've never been motivated to write a review for a deli; I usually write reviews for dog grooming and ski areas -- but THIS place needs a review. And five stars. We are sad that we live 1000 miles away. Okay, we're sad that we live 1000 miles away from Marco Island, anyway -- but EXTRA sad because there is NOTHING like this Italian Deli anywhere near us. In fact, in 54 years of patronizing Italian delis, I've never run across one that's even half as good as this one. If you're in Marco Island and are looking for top-shelf Italian food, go to this deli. You will be happy you did! (And no, I have no association with this deli other than being a very happy customer. I don't even know the owner's name. In fact, I'm not even the customer -- my mom is the customer -- I'm just one of the people who consumed the food and said, "WOW, THIS STUFF IS AWESOME.)

You will...

ered tomato basil Bruschetta, chicken Alfredo, burrata pizza. We got our bruschetta and chicken Alfredo about 15 minutes after we sat down. We watched people who came in after us get served as my husband still had not received his pizza. Finally, the pizza came out and it was the wrong kind. We politely sent it back and asked for the correct pizza. Several minutes later, the same pizza was sent out as we communicated to the manager on duty we had received the wrong pizza for a second time. The manager on duty had no compassion and zero customer service skills. He had no intentions of trying to even resolve this issue. My husband ended up asking for a refund because he still did not receive his order. The manager walked away from the register and said, "there's your receipt" after it was printed out. He couldn't even take the time to explain when refund would show up on his card. We had to ask him what the next steps were. I would have given zero stars, but I would like to commend Tammy (bartender) as she took the time to listen to what happened. I understand things happen, but I truly hope the manager on duty learns better customer service as this type of behavior will drive customers away. I look forward to coming back for a better experience...

This is based solely on the one thing I ordered—an eggplant parmigiana sandwich. First of all, this dish is supposed to consist of layers of eggplant, sauce and cheese that is baked together. They took fried eggplant that was clearly prepared for their eggplant rollatini (because I saw many orders of that being served while I waited), threw a bit of sauce and cheese on the bread, and added a few pieces of thin, dry, tough eggplant. Nothing was integrated. The cheese was barely melted. We only ate it because we got it to go and were hungry. The atmosphere was really loud with the people drinking at the bar. I’m giving two stars because the pizza looked good. They advertised it as best NY style pizza in Florida. This NYer seriously doubts that though.

Amazing and authentic. 2 words we use to describe the Italian Deli and Market. Our party of 3 decided to stop in based on the reviews and the appealing menu. Although we are familiar with Marco Island and have visited here often, this was our first time stopping in and we can’t wait to return! We ordered the carbonara, La diavolo pizza, fried olives, stuffed artichokes and burrata caprese salad. We cannot speak highly enough about our experience. Everything we had was fresh, hot and authentic. We loved the casual vibe of the restaurant, indoor and outdoor seating options and great prices. You have to stop in to Italian Deli and Market, you will not leave disappointed!

Worst place to get a sandwich. Ordered the Chicken Cutlet sandwich to go. To my surprise, it was nothing but a thin dried small piece of breaded chicken on an oversized piece of bread. Nothing else is on the sandwich just the dried out chicken cutlet and bread. Apparently, you have to ask for condiments or other add ons. You would think the person taking the order would ask, "What would you like on that ?" I called to ask the owner/manager about it, and he was VERY VERY rude. Worst customer service and food I have ever had to pay $14.00 for. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. So many other great places on the island.
