Butterfly Beach — Local services in Marco Island

My family and I were on vacation and after we ate ice cream at Cold Stone, we walked around the shops. We walked into this shop and the lady behind the counter came out and started following us around. I suppose she thought we looked like thieves? This was absolutely not the case as we have more than enough money to purchase any item she had in the store, but after that kind of treatment we left. We did go elsewhere and spend quite a lot of money on things that could have been purchased there if their treatment of my family had been different. I understand establishments like these have trouble with people stealing things, but we were not there to steal! We were trying to have a good evening and peruse what they had. This employee made it obvious she did not trust us- so why would we shop there?!...

Call first. Very disappointed. Love this store and always make sure to plan a visit in my schedule during my visits to the area. However, I just made a special trip over to the Esplanade to go to Butterfly Beach and arrived at 11:50am on Sunday when the store website (and google) clearly states they are open 11-6. All the lights are on, a woman is visible working in stock room area, both doors are locked tight. So I give the benefit of doubt thinking maybe they are opening at noon today. I walk around the docks in the esplanade for about 15min, come back at 12:05 and doors are still locked tight, all lights on. Wasted trip. Guess I won't be spending money there this...

So I shop here regularly (1-2 times a month) Walked today 6/1/25 as I see they having a sale Tried a few things on and the lady working the register whom I have never seen before was so busy taking make up with a person who has already checked out to even give me the time of day. I stood there a good 5-6 minutes waiting to ask some questions and then walked over to let her finish her conversation about make up Came back to register after 10 minutes and stood there another 5 minutes as she completely ignored me. Owner should dock her as she could have cared less about sales….. Tough time of year not to care as sales are slowing down...
