Here my review of my recent 2 night stay at Quality Inn of Marianna:
Hot Water - The water was warm but definitely not hot. Could have the hot water on full blast and no fear of being burned.
AC - The AC worked great!! No AC had been on for a while when we entered the room so it was super stuffy but in no time we were having to turn the AC off.
Safe Location - The property is right off the highway and we were in the building the farthest from the highway and next door to a nicer well lit hotel. Wasn't as well lit as other properties around but still did feel safe.
Bed/pillows - The bed was pretty soft but so was the base of the bed every time I would toss and turn. The base seemed to have a lot of movement so it definitely was not high quality. The bed only had 2 pillows per bed, should have been 4 on each bed. Bed sheets did have holes here and there.
Cleanliness - If you remember the part about no AC being on for a while when we first walked into our room I didn't mention that this was a pet room as well. Fairly strong dog urine smell but after the AC had been running it was not as strong. Really the carpet needs a shampooing or to be replaced; no shoes on it really felt grimey. Peeling paint over sink and really just some low quality repairs when it came to drywall and painting.
Price - Really for me the price was great. I wasn't expecting much for 70 bucks a night but based on some of the reviews of other hotels in the area this was really a good deal.
Breakfast - Breakfast was included but was very disappointing. Very limited selection but did have cereal, breads, yogurts and a couple of warm items; eggs and ??? The small fridge that had the gallon of milk and yogurt was very warm. We did not eat breakfast.
The room only had the bare minimum when it came to towels and washcloths.
Based on everything I list above I would stay at this property again. I don't spend a lot of time in my room typically so at least having warm water, an adequate bed and really good AC with a pretty good rate worked great for me. If I was traveling with a family with young kids that tend to be on the floor playing more than being at the desk or on the bed I wouldn't suggest...
Read moreI had a poor customer service experience there today. To be fair the hotel itself was very nice. Comfortable beds, affordable, but I was talked down to by an employee. I used the waffle maker at the free breakfast, which was piping hot and had no signs or indications that it was not supposed to be used. I poured on the batter and waited for my waffle to cook. A man behind me said that he had been in line for the waffle machine. I said that I was sorry and that I didnt know (since he wasnt in the line), and he said that an employee had told him that she was going to clean the machine and that was why he was waiting. The employee was not there when I came into the breakfast area, no sign was present and the machine was still steaming, so I am not sure how I was supposed to know that. About this time the employee came back, and without an overture, opened up the waffle machine, where my waffle was over 2/3rds cooked and said that she had already said she was going to clean the waffle machine in a very loud and exasperated manner. I explained that I didnt know and apologized. She proceeded to huff and roll her eyes and scrape the waffle out of the machine. She said she had already turned the machine off. I again explained that I didnt know, and she, by her actions and mannerisms and exasperated noises, made clear that my apology was not accepted. I believe a good customer service experience would have gone something like this, "Oh, I am sorry, but I have already turned the machine off for cleaning, I realize that you didnt know because I wasnt here. Give me just a second to clean the machine and you can get back to waffle making. Your waffle will be better after I am done cleaning the machine. Sorry for the inconvenience, but you'll understand". And I would have understood. Instead I was treated very rudely. I work with the public myself. I understand being frustrated when things are chaotic, but you don't take it out on a customer with eye rolls and huffing. So again, the hotel itself was great, the lady who checked us in and out were nice, but the lady who was in charge of cleaning the waffle machine at the breakfast on the day of Sunday, June 12th, 2016...
