If I could give a higher rating for staff, I would!
I travel to Marietta for work as a nurse. It is never fully comfortable leaving my own home and family to work out of town, but the staff is always so warm and friendly, and makes my stay so much better. The past week was filled with lots of emotion and proved how awesome your manager and her staff are at this Marietta hotel. I was set to check out on Thursday, however a winter storm kept me at the hotel before heading back to work on Sunday. I planned to settle in until my next shift but was sidetracked after losing my wallet. To say I was panicked would be an understatement. The wallet had all my personal cards and cash in it. I had no backup cash or way to get food or gas. And God forbid I had an emergency.
Once I realized that I lost the wallet, I told the manager, and she quickly came to my rescue. She searched with me outside while it was snowing, and the weather was becoming worse. But that did not stop her from helping me. Just having that person by my side meant everything to me. Being away from home was stressful and stranded without money was beyond what I have ever felt. But she made it so much better for me by helping me search and showing true concern and compassion. She even had others look for my wallet when I went to work. All during this winter storm.
Eventually and thankfully my wallet was found. I never got to fully tell her how much I appreciated all she did for me those few days. She and her staff went above and beyond and made me feel like I wasn't alone during that stressful time.
The people you have working at this Holiday Inn are exceptional! They are the face of your hotel, and they are awesome! They are not only friendly and helpful, but truly kind and generous. This is what will keep me coming back to this hotel above others.
Thank you doesn't seem like enough. I am truly thankful there are wonderful people like this...
Read moreI had booked two rooms 3 weeks in advance and had confirmation of both. I had requested adjoining rooms. I had used one credit card to confirm the reservation but wanted to use a different card for payment upon arrival. A young man, who was very polite, checked us in. When I asked for the second room key I was told that I didn't have two reservations. I was also told that THIS hotel did not have adjoining rooms. Found out later that was not accurate. I had left the confirmation number in my car and didn't want to go dig it out. The found another room but he used to wrong credit card. He used the one it was booked with. I asked the young man to reverse the charge and use the correct card. He didn't know how and asked a woman who was sitting over to the side doing something on her phone. She came up and said that they couldn't do that, I needed to call my credit card company. I knew that was wrong. It took a very long time to get checked in. The woman was doing something on her phone the whole time while the young man was struggling. Every time we passed through the lobby the next 2 days, she was on her phone. She never smiled or greeted us. The next day the manager was on duty and she corrected the wrong charge and gave me some extra points and told me the young man was new. The last evening when we came in after dinner, the evening shift woman was sitting in a vehicle in a handicap spot. I suppose she was on break, but there was no one on duty at the desk. This seems to be the norm as we have stayed in 5 IHGs in the past week and a half and the desk staff seem to always be outside smoking or away from the desk. I know that staffing is a problem in many places, but it seems to be a theme that the managers are top notch but their evening staff don't know or care about customer service. We have two more IHG hotels to stay in before we return home. I hope I can give them a better review...
Read moreWe called this hotel to confirm and specifically booked this room based on the facts we could request adjoining rooms, and it had an indoor pool so we could entertain the 3 children we had with us. Upon arrival, we were informed there were connected rooms only for king-size beds. Bummer, as this was the first we had heard of this, and there were too many people to share two king beds. However, they did manage to get us side by side rooms, so we brushed it off.
Then, as we were discussing the pool with the kids with the clerk, she informed us that the heater for the pool was broken and a sign placed it was closed. She allowed us to swim, but even the kids couldn't handle the freezing water for more than a couple of minutes. This was supposed to be the highlight for the kids and a way to keep them busy for a while. Do you know how hard it is to entertain three children in a hotel room that have been stuck in a car all day?
The HOT rooms and spaceship sounding AC units made it next to impossible to rest well. Listen in the videos I posted. The kids wokr up several times, scared by the sound. I am a pretty heavy sleeper, and I woke up several times as well. I had the thermostat down to 62°, but it felt more like 76°. This was the experience in BOTH ROOMS WE RENTED.
When I mentioned the issue to the front desk at checkout with the video, they offered me something free from their market of can soda and frozen pizza. Umm, if that is real, why does it feel like stealing? How does that help the 6 me being completely disappointed paying $250+ for rooms that were only better than Motel 8, due to cleanliness. But Motel 8 was half the price. The amenities were seriously lacking during our stay.
The pros: clean hotel, comfy beds,...
