On 06-12-19 I ate at the IHOP in Marietta, Ohio and this was my very first dining experience at an IHOP. Unfortunately I was not pleased with the meal. The sirloin tips tasted like liver and 2 other items were cold and should have been warm/hot. I left a review of my experience in which I stated that the restaurant was very clean, parking area was very clean, restroom was also very clean. All around the facility is very nice looking. Staff was very professional, knew the menu, polite and were very attentive. Only issue was the taste and temperature of the meal. I did not intend to return for another visit. Something unusual happened the very next day. I write reviews almost on a weekly basis..good, bad and indifferent. Never once have I recieved a follow up letter, e mail or telephone call. On 06-13-19 I got a telephone call from the IHOP Manager, Felicia Bess. She seemed to be genuinely concerned about my visit and asked that I give them a second chance. In her defense she was not there the night of my dining experience. I let her know that had the staff made an effort to correct the issue by offering a substitute, it would have been a better experience. I had no intention of going back but I could hear something in her voice that told me that she had a sincere desire to show me what her, her staff and her restaurant really have to offer on a day to day basis. This evening me and my 11 year old daughter made a trip back to Marietta from Davisville, WV. As we pulled into the parking space beside the outdoor dining area there was a very beautiful young woman cleaning a table. We made eye contact and she gave me a very warm and friendly smile. My observant little one asked me if that woman was my friend. I told her that I never met the woman before and asked her why she asked me that. She told me that she asked because the woman smiled at me like we were friends. I ordered the same plate as before: sirloin tips, breaded shrimp, red skin mashed potatoes with gravy and corn. My daughter had chicken strips, french fries and potato pancakes. We both also had a milk shake. The beautiful young lady that was cleaning the table came to our table and introduced herself as the manager, Felicia. We had a very good and heart warming conversation about what makes a service industry establishment successful. It boils down to the quality of service that the staff gives to their lifeblood...patrons, guests, customers. No matter what they are called, it is the person who makes the conscious decision to visit and spend their money at your establishment and hopefully returns and encourages others to visit as well. Throughout our meal Felicia and Angela checked on us, as well as our server, Autumn. All of our meal that was supposed to be hot, was hot. This time the sirloin tips came out hot, delicious and with the texture one would expect. Our meals were brought out in a timely manner and Autumn made sure our glasses were full, appropriate condiments were provided and engaged us BOTH in conversation. My daughter is very shy and quiet but Autumn was great with her. So much so I have been told that is her new favorite restaurant and we should go back once a week. At checkout Elizabeth was very friendly and helpful. Even though my title is guest, customer or patron... Angela, Elizabeth, Autumn and Felicia all made us both feel as if something of another title....friends. not only are these ladies beautiful to look at but their hearts and passion for customer satisfaction is also beautiful. I am so grateful that Felicia took the time out of her day to reach out to me and invite me to come back. By all means, please do give them a chance to brighten your...
Read moreMy Family and I had The Best Experience Ever! The staff was friendly. From the time we walked in until we walked to the counter to pay. Everything was Great!!!!! IHop is one of our favorite restaurants. Whenever we travel that's the first restaurant my children ask if we can go. So needless to say we have been to many. We live in Parkersburg but was really excited when we heard Marietta was getting an IHop! It was pretty busy the day we decided to visit. No problem we figured it would be bc it is new to the Marietta area. They were friendly when we walked in. Being that my husband and I both work at a Restaurant we instantly was amazed with all the Teamwork and even the managers helping out. They told us the wait would be 10-15, which we were sat accordingly. We are a family of 5 needing a highchair so I figured it would be longer. Nope not at all. So we get sat, Our server"Niki" was Awesome! Being a server myself I'm a little picky bc I know the job well. She was on point! She included my whole family and even gave my husband a hard time. That was the Best Part! Lol The food was Amazing! I have absolutely No Complaints. My family and I felt really special. A couple servers stopped by and played with my children and they were all in love with the new baby. The manager did a table visit and ended up chatting with us for a few minutes. How nice of him to take time out of his busy day to chat with us. He told us how Beautiful our family was. I have to honestly say this was one of our Best Experiences at IHop! Thank You so much! We will definitely be...
Read moreSo let me start by saying this. I work in the industry originally from Marietta but I now live in Florida.
Let start this review, the only thing saving this review from a 1 star is the fact that the Cinnabon pancakes are very good. At our table, our drinks weren’t refilled quickly at all, there were a total of 5 tables in the restaurant, our food took over an hour to get, everyone but one person ordered over easy or over medium eggs they all came out well done. The one person who order medium well for over very over easy. I asked for avocados on the side for my toast, I never got them. Our waitress dropped off our food and never checked on us during our meal, it was about 10-15 mins after we received our food that she came back. She then proceeded to bring the checks, we asked for the avocados to be taken off since we never received them. She rudely and I mean very rudely blamed us for not saying we never received them. I also understand the eggs are the cooks fault and not the server but to check back after we were done with what we ate, to point out it was raining and she came back with rain drops all over her because she was on a smoke break. I am the first one to over tip (if I pay the check or even if I don’t) but this will be one of the worst experiences I have had, to the point I left not really even caring what...
