Gran Rey — Restaurant in Marietta

We waited at least 10 minutes to be greeted after we were sat and then waited 50 plus minutes on food with a refill only right before our food came out and the refill was offered by someone who was not our waiter. The portions are a lot smaller than you'd expect. The taco salad was missing guac and was super watery. The shell tasted stale and of old oil. We also tried The Deliciosa. The steak tasted super freezer burned and was so tough. The chicken. Was just okay. I expected the pieces to be sliced but they weren't. Rice and beans were very mediocre. I forgot to add- We were served fajitas at first which was wrong (we ordered the taco salad) and had to wait another 15 for it to be brought out. Just not a great experience. Saw the waiter a couple times at best and no apologies. The lady who checked us out took 5% off...halfway covered the taxes. We were just passing through, so...

Beautiful restaurant and very clean. Restrooms sparkling clean! I had chimichangas and an excellent chili relleno. My husband had the rib eye steak and a fabulous house salad. He said his steak was a little tougher than he would have maybe liked, but it was decent. His favorite dressing is blue cheese which they did not have unfortunately. I think our waiter might have been new as he had a bit of a language barrier. He didn't know their house salad was the same as the side salad my husband ordered, and did not bring it before the steak. We had to remind him. He also forgot my sour cream and I forgot to make sure it wasn't on the bill. But, in all, our meal was good and we will go back. We went around 3 o'clock and were seated immediately. If you don't mind torn up seats it's not too bad. I went by myself and did not have good service. I know typically single women don't tip that much but I actually used to be a waitress so I typically leave a really good I left them a 5 even though I had crappy service. So I had to ask for the check after I was finished. He took my order dropped off the food and I never saw him again. I was paying attention to how he acted to the other tables that had a man and a woman though and it was like night and day.
