The hotel itself was nice, comfortable and the staff was very friendly.
The bathroom could have been cleaner meaning the floor and the shower. Shower doors were not wiped down and the floor was not cleaned very well, to the point where I had to clean it myself before I felt comfortable walking in there.
My biggest disappointment was the fact that I left several things in the room, the bathroom specifically. I left a shirt, which I was able to get recovered. I also left my razor, a full size bottle of shampoo, a full size bottle of conditioner and a travel pouch that I place the bottles into when I travel.
The razor was not a disposable razor either.
My overall experience with the hotel was good as we have stayed here before, but the biggest disappointment was the fact that no one bothered to set my things aside to wait at least 48 hours in case I wanted to recover them. They were not travel sizes items. All in all $50 worth of product was just thrown in the trash! No questions asked. I called the evening of the same day i checked out to ask about the items I left behind. Someone was nice enough to check the room and said nothing was there. Then I got a call back and was told to call back at 10 am when the cleaning crew was back in. So I did. Mysteriously, my shirt in fact was there and they set it aside for me. I was happy about that.
Apparently the manager said my other items were thrown out because they were personal.
You have to give someone some time to realize that they did in fact leave something behind before you just throw out their belongings! No questions asked! I am extremely disappointed that this is the course of action taken.
If I had left a hair dryer, which is a personal item or a curling iron, which is a personal item, would those have been thrown out?
Just doesn’t make any sense. Pretty ridiculous actually that you would just throw someone’s things out! My lap top? Those are all personal items and should be set aside for the customer to have a chance to recover. If they are still there after three or four days, then I could understand. I came the next day to pick up my shirt on...
Read moreThis hotel is beautiful and the people working there are friendly and go out of their way to help. The bed was really comfortable until I noticed a crackling sound as I rolled on it. There is a rubber/plastic bag that the mattress is in. I stayed in this same hotel a few weeks prior. I tried to sleep on the bed with this sheet, It was sweaty and noisy. Eventually, I couldn't stand it anymore and removed the sheet. Once it was off, I slept like a baby. On 8/13 I came to town and remembered how nice the hotel was. I forgot about the sheets until I laid down and felt/heard the crackle. Once again, rubber/plastic sheets/mattress bag. This time the mattress bag was locked closed with a coded tie wrap so I could not remove it. I spoke with Mark, from the front desk. When I asked if I could remove it, he was not certain so he contacted the owners. He said the owner specifically said I could not remove it. He said he was able to cancel my reservation so I could stay at another hotel in town. He seemed genuinely upset that he was not able to fix the issue. I am not sure why the owners insist on using this kind of noisy, nonbreathable kind of mattress protector. It is the kind of experience I would expect at a lesser brand of hotel, but not a HIE. Other hotels protect their mattresses with materials that don't make noise and do breathe. Breakfast is the same as every other HIE out there. I enjoyed my first stay after the rubbery/plasticy sheet was off. If you don't mind the weird sheets, this is the perfect place to stay. This was going to be my 71st paid stay at an IHG property this year.
I have a video showing how loud the sheets are, and I attached a picture of the label on the sheet showing it is made of nonbreathable polyurethane...
Read moreWe were in town for my nephew's graduation from Marion HS Class of '22. We were told when we checked in that housekeeping was on a request basis only, so if we required housekeepin, to let the front desk know. After our 1st nights sleep, and a great breakfast buffet, we mentioned we would be returning late that evening and all we required was new towels for the room. Our room nu.ver was written down and off we went. We got back after 2AM that night and no towels were delivered. The next morning we went down for breakfast and they were out of coffee, and out of sausage gravy for the biscuits. We were told it would at least 8 minutes for the gravy to come out. We went back up to our room to make coffee up there. The coffee maker was broken. So we prepped for the day and on our way out, told the front desk that our towels weren't delivered yesterday and the coffee machine was broken. Again, she wrote down the room number and apologized for the inconvenience. She said she'd cemredit my account with extra points since I'm an IHG Platinum Member. I mentioned well be out late again, please have housekeeping clean our room and get new towels. We got back after midnight... no towels, no housekeeping, no coffee maker replacement. I have never been so let down by an IHG property in all the years I've stayed with them. We didn't even receive those inconvenience points. Since our service was so bad, I would like a refund of points for my entire stay. What a horrible experience on a...
