Villa on Verona turned out to be the perfect lacation to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We reserved two rooms, Verona for three nights and Venice for one night for our two young adult children. The bedrooms were tastefully decorated, comfortable and very clean. Each room has a private bath with toiletries, plush bathrobes and a single serve kuerig coffee maker. I liked the window seat and desk in our room, the Verona. We enjoyed the common rooms as well, especially the game room and bar in the basement where we played darts and boardgames. The cozy sitting room upstairs was a nice place to unwind as well. We spent an evening at the pool, with a deep end, and a bath house that had towels, a mini-fridge with sparkling water and restrooms. ||Morning breakfast was delicious and held off our hunger until practically dinner time. It was protein packed with daily yogurt with fruit and housemade granola. Over our stay breakfast also included cinnamon rolls, quiche, scrambled eggs, bacon and a potato hash. We were surprised with mimosas on our anniversary! We decided on the kayaking package which worked out great, a 2 hour easy trip down the k-zoo river. Be mindful of the various types of Kayaks, my husband being more experienced, could handle the tipsy one. I need the flat bottomed closed style. The grounds around the Villa are spacious which was one thing I was looking for. There is even a little walking trail through the woods. Safety precautions were in place for this time of pandemic. We discovered lots to do in Marshall and spent one afternoon in Battle Creek. Overall it was a relaxing and memorable time, could not have asked for anything more. Thank you Katy and Jason for your warm...
Read moreI reserve the fifth star only because I've never actually enjoyed any events there, and I say, "enjoy," rather than, "receive," because I'm genuinely certain I WOULD enjoy myself there, given a number of opportunities. The property itself stands out amongst its neighbors, which are modest and well-kept in their own right, with an almost celebrity air of deference, as unavoidably noticeable as a tall, lanky supermodel in their late 20's to mid 30's, standing amongst a group of average, well-maintained, but still, just average, by comparison, middle-aged persons. The first impression is well stated and it's obvious the owners have really poured themselves into molding it's finessed image. The grounds are meticulously maintained, yet observant enough of the surrounding nature to allow for a very cozy, natural feeling. The female half of the power couple, with only very limited interaction between we two, gave off a vibe of refinement, observational acuity, confidence, and approachability which I found quite affable; qualities of too short supply in the service sector in which their business competes. The quality of an establishment such as theirs is always so much more imbued with allure when its owners have not only invested an undeniably huge amount of research and effort into its creation, but have also, obviously, learned to publicly embody a service-engaged aesthetic. All I was there for was to pick up some free demo'ed stone countertops, but I have to admit, I was...
Read moreWe recently hosted our wedding celebration at The Villa on Verona, and it’s hard to put into words just how magical our experience was. After our ceremony a few months ago, we wanted a space where we could truly celebrate with friends and family—and the Villa delivered beyond our highest expectations.
From the moment we arrived, Virginia and her incredible staff made us feel completely at ease. Their attention to detail and genuine care meant we didn’t have to worry about a single thing; we were able to simply enjoy every moment with our loved ones. Virginia was communicative, supportive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. It’s rare to find a host so dedicated and thoughtful.
The villa itself is stunning—designed in the style of an Italian villa, it’s both elegant and welcoming. We were fortunate to have the entire property to ourselves, including the beautiful grounds, pool, tennis court, and a spacious tent with a dance floor that was perfect for our celebration. Every corner of the property felt special, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about the atmosphere.
Whether you’re planning a wedding, another special event, or simply looking for a getaway, we cannot recommend The Villa on Verona highly enough. It’s a place where memories are made, and we’re so grateful to Virginia and her team for helping us create such a joyful, unforgettable celebration.
