I have been staying here since the place was a week old. It always feels like coming home for me. I have known Jason for 15 years now. I met him when he worked at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Charles Town. He has such a wonderful smile and welcoming attitude. The Hampton had that atmosphere until Jason left. When he left that atmosphere went with him. The Home2Suites in Martinsburg has had that Welcoming Atmosphere since day one. I have stayed several times for a few months at a time working local job locations. Every employee is nice and pleasant. They all work as a team and it shows throughout the whole facility and grounds. The nature of my job requires that I travel sometimes on short notice to the area. Cheyanne has been my go to Girl for getting me a room when they are sold out. She has called me back when there's a cancellation or a few times got me a room after a repair was made so I could stay the night. This means the World to me because my teenage son lives in Charles Town and I don't get to see him very often. Cheyanne knows this and is sympathetic when I call on short notice. This Hotel sells out quite often and is very close to multiple restaurants, a supermarket, Wal-Mart ,car-wash, Martinsburg Family Diner,( Which has Great Food and one of my Favorites , Harbor Freight Tools ). I stayed there last week hoping to see my son for a few hours that night. I hadn't seen him in months and as soon as I walked in the front door I was greeted with Jason's Beaming Smile who said , ( Hey Bud , how's it going ? ) I actually teared up. I haven't had a real home since 2015. This place is the closest thing to a real home I have had since 2015. I gave Jason a Big Ole Hug in front of everyone. He is like a Brother to me now. We have both experienced great losses in our lives in recent years due to Cancer. We lost loved ones a few years apart. Last week I was introduced by Jason to the Hotels General Manager , Ashley. I told her how I knew Jason and how it always feels like coming home when I walk through the door. She took the time to listen to my condensed life story since 2015. I expressed to her that I have often thought of moving to the area and applying to work maintenance at the hotel with Jason. She then told me they are building another building on the property. After discussing my experiences and past training and jobs she invited me to apply in they spring/summer. I am currently working a job I enjoy that is projected to be done around that time period. I would be able to see my son on a daily basis instead of a few times a year. We will see what the future brings but I would be Honored to work there. This property is very special. I have traveled the world over for 11 years and longer and this is Hands Down my favorite place to stay. I have had to stay elsewhere because they do sell out a lot but its never the same elsewhere. Not Even Close. To All the Employees at HOME2 SUITES in Martinsburg , WEST VIRGINIA. Thank You and God Bless you All....
Read moreThis was a surprise. A very strong storm blew in and forced us to stop our travels for the night and find overnight accommodations. After finding the Martinsburg Home2 Suites online and seeing that they would accept our dog along with a reasonable price, I called to book the room. I rarely stay in the larger chain hotels and had never stayed in any Home2 Suites. My expectation was a little low. I just prayed for the room to be clean and that it would be close by, so we could get out of this torrential wind, rain, lightening storm. The parking lot is smaller than what I think it probably should be, because there was nowhere to park. Nowhere. Thank goodness for the portico, so we could unload and check in somewhat out of the storm, which was now blowing sideways fain and drenching us even under the portico. As soon as we stepped inside, the staff was attentive and friendly. The initial interaction was the start of a fantastic one night stay. Our dog got a little welcome bag. Nice. We found our room on the second floor end of the hall and opened the door. The room was large, spotless and comfortable. The small fridge was great for us to store the food we had in our cooler. Bathroom was clean and large. The smart tv's were big and afforded us lots of options for viewing. The A/C units were effective and quiet. The shades were outstanding for keeping the morning light out and allowing us to try to sleep in a bit. We didn't hear much noise from the hallway, but the noise from the room above us was ridiculous. From very early in the morning there were at least 3 children repeatedly jumping off the beds. Yes, I jumped on and off my own bed as a child, but my parents would not allow me to act like a wild animal in a hotel. It was amazing how loud they were. Impressive, even. There is no way the parents were in that room with the kids. My recommendation is that you request a room on the top floor to avoid the possibility of having zoo animals in the room above you. The shower was hot and had good pressure. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, which would have been appreciated. The breakfast was great! Lots of options, including gluten free. The ladies working that breakfast were wonderful and worked so diligently to meet all the guests' needs and requests. The woman at the desk for check-out was also great. Friendly and efficient. I forgot to mention the fresh baked cookies at the front desk at check-in. I would not hesitate to stay at this Home2 Suites in the future and this will probably become out regular stop on our travels through the area. This hotel was a lucky find. The staff is what makes it outstanding. They ensure clean rooms, good interactions, delicious...
Read moreMy GF and I stayed here a few weeks ago, on a Saturday night, for just that night. We didn't have a reservation, we just needed to find a hotel for the night due to plans changing on a whim. The woman at the front desk was very pleasant, got us a room and we were happy to just be able to relax after being in the car for 5 hours driving. The room was a double queen and it was a huge room. Had a couch, big desk area, a sink, fairly big fridge(not the typical small hotel fridge size), microwave and cupboards with plates, bowls, glasses, cups, cook ware, ect. The bathroom was very nice as well. Very nice, updated modern look to the room and very clean as well. We both said this hotel was one of the nicer ones we've stayed at. The look, amenities, cleanliness and friendliness of staff all were top notch! With that being said, we did discover something the next morning that was a little unexpected. After we went down and got breakfast from their hot bar(also pretty good), we went back up to our room to get showered and hit the road. My GF was doing her makeup in front of a body size mirror in the area where the couch was. She dropped an eyebrow pencil and it rolled under the couch. I pushed the couch a little but it seemed to roll under there pretty good-so I turned my phone flashlight on and got down to look for it. I found it, but I also noticed something else.... it turned out to be an insulin syringe! We had a hard time believing someone would of been so careless with there diabetic supplies, especially a syringe.. we thought it was most likely a drug user that had stayed in the room. Not sure why or how it ended up there, but we weren't touching it!! My GF immediately went and spoke with a girl at the front desk to let them know what we were almost positive we saw. I certainly wouldn't want anyone, especially a kid, to find that and get poked with a potential used syringe. The staff had apologized for it, said to not touch it and they would take care of it after we checked out- and gave us a full refund for our night!! Wasn't expecting that! We just didn't want someone to touch it unknowingly and we certainly weren't going to remove it. I don't blame the hotel or housekeeping for it... if that syringe was used for drugs, it may have been hidden in the couch and fell on the floor when I moved it initially..who knows. But the refund on the room was an awesome move on their part... but I kinda felt bad because I thought the place was great! I'd stay again, without question. Overall it's a nicely ran hotel with nothing to...
