Shame on this business. Not very good customer service at all.
I have been here several times and have enjoyed it every time, except for today.
I ordered takeout at 1:12 PM and by 2:15 PM. it still wasn’t ready. I kept being told that the order was coming and that they got really busy with the buffet. I said that I had ordered ahead and the person told me 15-20 minutes. I showed up after 30 minutes.
Finally after 30 more minutes of waiting, I asked for a refund. I was then told that I could have the cost of the $5.99 samosas taken off my order, that still wasn’t ready. I said that I would prefer a refund.
I didn’t raise my voice, I didn’t use any obscenities, but from their attitude you would have thought that I was the one who was wronging them. I asked why nobody apologized or seemed to feel badly. The response from Adrian was that he was giving me my refund. I asked again why someone told me 15 / 20 minutes and he gave a vague, noncommittal answer. …again, the buffet.
They gave me a refund and I asked where my tip was that I had given and was told by Adrian, that it would not be run until the end of the night. I hope that is true.
As a business, if you know that you are going to be busy, why not convey that to the person who is ordering takeout? Your front people also need to work on their customer service. I don’t think that the business even started making my food until I came in.
Very, very sad. I am disappointed in...
Read more"We Stopped In On A Humble"
My wife and I stopped in on a humble, as we were about to eat at a neighboring restaurant, Cafe Del Sol. Ive never eaten Indian food, but my wife has. So the name "Spice Connection" and with my wifes affinity for Indian food, we said lets give them a try. Needless to say, I was BLOWN away! The location is a little obscure, and if we hadn't parked on the side of Cafe Del Sol, we wouldn't have seen it. So, to us, this is a local HIDDEN GEM! The wait staff are very welcoming, shout out to "John!!!" and the food is outstanding! I had the Chicken Tikka Masala (spicy) with Biryani rice, and my wife had the Goat Biryani (medium) with Raita. The portions were huge, super delicious, tasty, and served hot. Funny note My wife thought that she ordered her food mild (in her head), and she was feeling the heat even from the medium spice 🤣🤣🤣 We also had some Masala Tea and some Sweet Tea to cool the heat 🔥 🔥 John, our server, was awesome, very welcoming, pleasant, and attentive (but not overbearing). We laughed about the spice level of my wife's dish and my sweating throughout the meal (not profusely, though 🤣) Summary: "This place is AWESOME!" Clean, great food, great prices and great service! We're from Hagerstown, and we're hooked! Thanks again, John, and to the chef's at Spice Connexion, serving up great food and...
Read more(This experience happened in November) We order Spice Connexion at the minimum once a week with our usual order. The food has been taking a turn for the worse each time we order this past month. We even excused it as being an “off day” for Spice Connexion but this last visit has made it evident that there has been an issue with hiring unprofessional staff and unqualified cooks. As well as the dishes becoming less and less like their original order, there has been several times that we have waited for staff to appear in the restaurant for over 10 minutes when picking up our food. I believe this is an issue with management not having a service bell or viewing window for the front house staff to see customers. When I received my last order, which is my usual order, it was a completely different dish than I ordered. I called to tell them they had made a mistake and described what they actually gave me. Instead of apologizing and offering to remake it, the employee told me “I was the one who bagged and gave you your food, you’re wrong”. The incorrect order was understandable, but the curt behavior of the staff is not. After being admiring patrons for so long, we are sad that our “go to staple” has let us down several times. It is time for us to stop giving Spice Connexion leniency and to part ways as...
