I've been coming here since I was a kid (for over 15 years now), and obviously things seem cooler when you're smaller, but this place ain't bad. Alot of old-timers and families come here, not once have I come across a "sketchy" person on the property, so it's just nice vibes all around, and the staff ain't bad either.
Outdoor pool awesome, indoor can be disgusting, but I think they have I.proved that over the last several years. Jacuzzi too.
Location-wise: its literally around the corner from Mashpee Commons, which is a nice place to chill and people-watch during the day. I'd say it's a 10 minute walk. There's also a couple bars which we like to go to every year.
Sea Mist grounds: there are about 10 different buildings that create a circle, and 2 floor condos which are pretty sick (we stay in one of the normal 2 bedroom family condos, 1 floor, which isn't bad at all (IF YOU PARTY MAKE SURE YOU GET A BOTTOM FLOOR UNIT!!!). So the units are 2 floors, 4 apartments, and if you have neighbors you can totally hear them walking around (which I don't mind at all, buuuuuut I've had noise complaints lol
The bedrooms aren't bad, good size master bed and 2 twins, there are 2 tvs, one in the mast and living room, but, guess what....they're OLD SCHOOL ANALOG TVs or whatever the hell you call them, EVERY year we come down me and my bro make a bet on if they finally changed the damn tvs to, you know, NORMAL HD TVs hahaha we don't mind though, kinda fun popping an old VHS in, so if you are oen for nostalgia this is your joint! (You can bring a TV if ya really want to, just bring an extension cord!)
So imagine the circle of units, the main building and pools are in the center, then all through the center are like a mini forest that totally sets the vibe, I freaking love it. There are sliding doors that lead to the back, with dirty plastic circle tables and dirty plastic chairs. NO cover from the rain either, people. And "quiet" time is at 11pm, so if you wanna stay outside, make sure ya talk low....cuz the neighbors will call in a noise complaint!
Anyways, the place is not your 5 star palace with all the luxuries of life, but something about this place and bringing like 5 of your friends to hang out, drink a couple brews, and spread out sleeping on the floor on every possible quare inch you can grab, with your family, brings back awesome old memories, and obviously I'm a little biased. BUT if you need a quiet and inviting place to unwind or rest up on a long road trip, or explore the Cape in general, this is your place!
Hope this helps! OH totally forgot....FINALLY FREE WIFI this year, still no HD TVs though...
Read moreThis is a timeshare resort that rents unused units. Virtually all timeshares have check-in at 4:00 PM and check out at 10:00 AM. I mention this because the previous review mentioned they didn't like the "early checkout." Unlike a hotel room, there is a lot of work in readying an entire condo for the next occupant, and that's why 10:00 is standard. ||The resort has two unit configurations, seven buildings with all rooms on either the first or second floor, and four buildings with townhouse units. We were in a townhouse unit. The kitchen was not as well equipped as most timeshares we've exchanged into, (no measuring spoons, dry measure cups, whisk, non-stick frying pan etc,) and there was no welcome pack of coffee, creamer, sugar. It's very rare to get a full kitchen on Cape Cod, however, so this is a minor complaint. We don't like to eat every meal out, so having a full kitchen is a huge benefit. ||Bathrooms were small and not luxurious, but adequate. There was bar soap but no shampoo or conditioner, which was unusual, so bring your own. The decor was unrelievedly neutral and could benefit from some pops of color, but carpeting and furniture was clean and comfortable. The bed had obviously gotten a new mattress recently as it was so comfortable we remarked that it was one of the best beds we've slept on in twenty-five years of timeshare exchanges. ||We enjoyed the outdoor pool, indoor pool, whirlpool, and sauna. We especially enjoyed the proximity to Mashpee Commons which is directly behind the resort, screened by a wooded area as a boundary. The Commons has upscale shops and several good restaurants, making it extremely handy for meals out. ||We liked the South Cape area and found Sea Mist very homey and comfortable. We would happily stay here again on future trips...
Read moreStayed here after being at another part of the Cape and I knew it was a mistake as soon as we walked in. Even though the front desk staff was friendly and the room was spacious, I immediate regretted my decision to stay there. The hotel is old and is in need of a big update. The hallway smelled a bit when we walked in too. The bathroom had spiders and spider webs which made me think it hadn’t been throughly cleaned. When we contacted the front desk they said they would send someone to attend to it and spray. There were still some webs and we found more spiders in the bedroom the next day. The rooms and furniture are old and tired with some stains on various pieces. At night we could hear the creaking of the bed in the room above us. The property is wooded and while there are amenities such as a tennis court and mini golf, they aren’t particularly well kept and the mini gift could be improved just by some pruning. The outdoor pool was nice and quiet and there was an indoor pool which was nice to have. The location is not ideal and I would not stay in the area again. The only thing the town seems to offer is the Commons and the limited restaurants were crowded with longs waits. It was a bit of a drive to anything we would want to do which added to the inconvenience. While we saved money staying there, I would never do it again and would have left early had we not prepaid. I would look elsewhere to truly enjoy your time...
