First time trying the Lanes, sat at the bar, and the bartender provided terrible service. I intended to grab a drink and place a large to-go order, but the bartender was preoccupied with flirting with the server at the end of the bar every time she came by. It seemed like he didn’t care about the customers at all. At one point, he even left the bar to talk to the waitress at the tables near the stairs for a while. In my over sixty years, I’ve never seen a bartender leave the bar except to check on an order or get liquor. He was gone so long that I ended up placing a to-go order at Zoe’s down the street. That’s how poor the service was. I visited Tuesday night (9/2) so the owner could review the schedule to see who was working.
I gave the restaurant a second chance before posting this review, but received the same awful service. I thought going and sitting at a table would increase my chances at having good service, but boy was I wrong. I went on a Sunday afternoon and the whole staff was literally only concerned about watching football, checking their bets on their phones, and fantasy teams rather than waiting on customers. Servers and I believe a manager were just sitting down(once again at the same table as referenced above) watching the games and going on their phones, truly unbelievable! Reminded me of what you would see at someone’s house, if they were having a get together, not a business in any way. The staff seems to be young and just not professional, or they don’t take their job seriously. My family and I will never come back and will not be recommending to anyone. The food is still good, and I'm not sure if it is new management or incompetent staff, but the last two times I've been here have been bad.
I came here with some friends to grab some food and drinks. Though the waitress was fast with taking our orders, it took the bartender much much longer to get our drinks. Our food came out slow (with other tables that came after us getting their food before us) and our drinks were "adequate" at best.
The last time I went I tried ordering takeout, which I've done a few times before. I was told to wait for the bartender, who saw me, said she'd be back in a minute, and left. Ten minutes later, still no bartender. I was about to ask when someone came in to order takeout and the bartender returned. She took the order of the person who just came in, looked at me and said she'll be back to take my order.
Two minutes later and she did not return. I spent about 17 minutes waiting and never got to order. I left after asking the waiter where the bartender went and was told she was out back giving the chefs our orders. I was done.
So, good food, good atmosphere, terrible staff/management (one of those two). I may go back this summer if they can manage to hire...
Read moreI don't usually write reviews specifically about service, but our experience last night was so exceptional that it deserves a spotlight. Our waitress, Bry, was an absolute delight and the main reason our dinner at The Lanes was so memorable.
From the moment we sat down, Bry made us feel so welcome. She had a genuinely warm and friendly energy that was infectious, not just efficient. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the entire menu—from the specials to the cocktail ingredients—and her recommendation for the tequila soda was fantastic.
What really set her apart was her attentiveness. She had a fantastic knack for checking in at just the right moments—never intrusive, but never leaving us waiting.
Beyond being a consummate professional, Bry was just a joy to talk to. She chatted with us about the local music scene and her passion for dog rescuing. It felt like we were being looked after by a friend.
The Lanes has fantastic food and a great atmosphere, but Bry is the secret ingredient that takes it from a great meal to a fantastic experience. The management is very lucky to have her. We will definitely be back.
