For the price, the room was great. The facilities are older, but not dirty. Everything was spotless, the beds were comfortable. For clean, comfort and affordability, I would give this place 5 Stars. I would not hesitate to stay here again if a couple issues were addressed. Overall, pleasant experience. While the place was very clean, comfortable and affordable, there are definitely some issues. The staff is not knowledgeable on ADA/Service dog rules. They were insisting I show proof of service animals registration and a service dog ID, which is literally NOT a thing. I had to show multiple websites, the ADA website, a State of Texas website, and an FAQ page to show that there is no service dog registration and there are no service dog IDs. However, after about 10min, they decided to allow my dog to stay. I did have a kennel, a harness, etc. I came prepared with all items, except there just is no registry and no service dog IDs that they insisted I needed.
TV worked great when I arrived. It was satellite. A few hours after checking in, the satellite was not connecting and we were unable to watch TV all evening.
They say they have wifi, it does not work. It is the kind of WiFi that allows you to connect but then you need to login on a web page that opens up once connected, however the page was "unavailable" and "not connecting" our entire stay.
The towels are very hard and scratchy. In fact, im pretty sure the "towels" were actually the ones that are supposed to be used as the bath mats. Very small, hard, scratchy, very uncomfortable.
Lack of warm water. I took a shower in the evening and the weather had been very hot and humid, so I actually didn't mind the cold shower, I was thinking there wasn't any hot water at all, but 10min later as I was getting out of the shower, it started to barely warm up. In the morning, my son was going to shower. I thought maybe the other guests had used all the hot water the night before but no....my son didn't end up taking a shower. I left it on for 10-15 before he attempted to get in and it stayed cold the entire time...and we ONLY had the hot water knob turned on...and it never warmed up so he...
Read moreI read so many reviews for this motel. It's not fancy, you get a bed, a bathroom, no coffee maker in the room. It does have a refrigerator and adequate ac/heat if necessary. I was camping at the lake and it was getting too cold at night. Because I have a big dog I couldn't find a place to stay for the night.
This motel was just fine, despite what the bad reviews said, it was clean, the bed was comfortable enough. The pipes are old and the water is rusty when it first comes out. That's not the owners fault. I had a pleasant stay and it was out of the cold for a night.
There were no bugs in the room. No roaches, no spiders, and no bed bugs! Believe me, I looked. Suggestion for the owner. Please get proper bed bug zip up covers for the beds, to prevent bed bugs. It only takes one person who has them in their belongings to start an infestation. Protect your investment!
My only real complaint was the door, you can literally see outside because it didn't close properly. That made me nervous being right off the highway. Anything could have gone wrong even with a proper working door.
The owner is pleasant and tries to be accommodating to you if you have a problem with the tv or heat. He came right to my room to fix it.
The rooms could use a little touch of comfort, even a plug in would help give it a more comfortable feeling. A little TLC and this wouldn't be a bad place to stay. They have a cute setup, just needs to be cared for and a little more work put into the rooms.
People probably don't think it's up and running for business by the looks of it, give it a chance, it's good if you need a place to stay for a couple days.
Yes, I can recommend staying here. I got a good night sleep and...
