We got there, went looking for a booth that wasnt dirty, no success i settled for one with clean table but messy seats. We got seated by 1 waitress, got our drinking order by another waitress, got our menus from a third waitress. The blonde waitress we had, was kind of always rushed. She checked up on us 1x towards the end. As far as food, the rice tasted weird, the enchiladas were good but overly salty. The carne guisada was the better of the previous mentioned and the cheeseburger . For the carne asada plate, the portion was a joke!! A 2oz piece of beef! When asked for another piece (which we were willing to pay for) the waitrwss says it should be 2 pieces. Then mgr comes over and states its only one piece. Anyway we ordered additional but i could hear the mgr talking to the waitress about the issue, abd thats cause i was on the other aide of the dinning area, she shouldn't be talking about her customers! Place had a lot of flies. Not the...
Read moreFirst it's in a small town. Not many choices to begin with, so that would explain why there was a lot of people. Second the food, breakfast. Husband for a pork chops w/eggs potato and beans. The chops were good, lots of potatoes but not very tasty. Scrambled eggs, meh it's eggs. However, the beans had a lime citrus flavor to them. I guess something spilled. Daughter got bean and cheese nachos. Her plate looked, beans tasted good, but the plates was cold. My plate was pancakes, sausage and scrambled eggs. Well the only thing that was warm were the eggs. Sausage was cold and had harden. Pancakes which I didn't expect a whole lot, since it's not a pancake house. We're also cold not even the butter melted, was more like butter frosting. One plus was the 16 oz cup of coffee! Third this small town could use some beautification it's close to Corpus Christi and could use...
Read moreFound this restaurant through Google Map and Yelp’s reviews as we were driving back to Austin from South Padre Island. Reviews don’t lie. Food was delicious.
-Menudo (5/5) was full of flavor and so much tripes; fresh diced onion and cilantro along with fresh lime was chef’s kiss. -Steak fajita plate (5/5) was huge. Steak was made well and tender. Rice was flavorful so was the received beans. Comes with some lettuce and guacamole too. -Carne asada taco (5/5) - very simple dish and the steak was the star of the show. Generous Portion of meat. For the price, this is a must. We even order 2 extra to-go! -Horchata (5/5) cheap and huge cup! Great flavor!
Overall, it was a good choice for our stop for our road-trip. The folks are very friendly. Service was quick. And for the price, this one is the winner! Also, they have great chips and salsa...
